AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Had to pay ‚£200 to sterling to carpet the propety. The propety was carpeted with no underlay and was carpeted with everything still underneath. Nails, a bottle cap, leaflets and god knows what else! One of the workmen had told us Sterling has been sued numerous times for people cutting their feet on the debris left underneath the carpets. Our boiler leaked constantly and was held together with duct tape! We were assured it was safe! No heating or hot water for 4 days in the middle of winter and we wer told there was nothing they could do until after the weekend(we rang them on a friday)! And nobody showed to fix it on the monday! We were told they showed up but we werent in which was a lie! No problems with the collection of rent obviously! When it came to leave an agent was ment to meet us on the last day to collect the keys and a water bill. Nobody showed. A letter was left on the window sill saying nobody came to collect the keys and to contact us to rearrage the collection. The note was still there 2 weeks later and no contact from the company. Rent was collected out of our account again a month after we had left the property even though sterling knew we had left the property a month before and we were paid up in full!! Luckily the bank could stop it and returned the money to our account. Constant phone calls regarding our deposit and constant excuses as to why they could not send out the deposit. The latest of which is we owe ‚£214 on a water bill which even united utilities has rang sterling (which was above and beyond from an assistant named jack) only to have united utilities ring us back to tell us they were being argumentative and rude to them and would not accept his word that our account with united utilities was actually in credit! Three months on we still have not recieved our deposit back!! We have told them we are reporting them to trading standards and the lady(i use the term loosely due to her horrendous attitude) insisted there was no need and that they have an in house complaints department which im sure means send us a letter and we will bin it!! WORST LETTING AGENCY I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING STERLING PROPERTIES LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
What agent could do to change your mind?
Less rude and arguementative staff no more excuses and lies no cutting corners when it comes to tennants safety and general treating tennants like idiots!
