Further to your comment regarding your family, I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you personally to discuss the situation as there has been no direct communication between you and myself to discuss this. Isis Residential has been trading successfully for over ten years and in that time have only had three written complaints. I take any complaint very seriously and am very sorry that you and your family feel this way however not all of your comments are correct.
I accept that in June the cooling off period was extended to 14 days, we have honoured this, amended our terms of business and released your family from the contract within the 14 days.
With regards to the price I had a conversation with the owners a week into the marketing, I stated that we had not had the anticipated response and that this may indicate that the price may need adjusting. I did not say that we should reduce it that day; I said that we would need to monitor it closely and review it in a week’s time. Furthermore at the initial meeting I provided market comparables regarding the marketing price, and we agreed to market at £385,000 and see how the market responded. At the point of valuation I made it very clear that ultimately the market dictates final sale prices and that I cannot control how the market will respond.
My only regret is that I should have had the conversation with your family face to face as they would have realised that my intentions were only to assist you with the move. Any of our competition would have offered the same advice under the circumstances. I was giving honest feedback and making a suggestion on what course of action may be necessary to sell your family’s home which is what we were instructed to do.
