I contacted Savilles some 5 months ago as a neighbour of a property they manage to arrange maintenance and prevent further damage to my property. Despite initially agreeing to act upon this, staff have continued to ignore and fail to respond to all regular forms of communication from myself. In view of the general lack of communication respect and competence demonstrated by staff I would suggest any prospective clients consider more helpful agents to manage their properties...

From a buyers perspective, I would strongly advise against marketing your property with Savills. We have viewed a couple of properties with them and found them to be very difficult to deal with and difficult to schedule appointments with. Despite the brand being Savills, the fee being premium, the service from our allocated individual was anything but. The photography and the viewing service was first class. The dealings with Iain were where the mask fell and the stereotypical estate agent attitude came into play. It's damaging to their brand that they do not monitor or mystery shop their individuals. We trusted Savills to act in as if we were the client, as a tennant in a property. I was a tenant in the Stansted area and Savills Bishops Stortford was the agency. I was misled in terms of aircraft noise by both landlord and Savills. On check-in I was confronted with a poorly cleaned house and absolutely filthy cooker. It took the landlord over 2 weeks to rectify the cooker and Savills were of no use. After agreeing to rent a property that was convered in scaffolding after being assured this was for repainting and would be down in 2 months max, we came to discover that the whole building was being rerendered. Scaffolding turned into balconies being removed, windows being tapped shut and covered in blue sheeting to stop residents breathing in the dust. The worst of it was during SUMMER! Agent made no effort whatsoever to either inform us of the situation, keep us updated on the situation (we had to attend residents meetings with the builders to find out the situation!) and offered no solution other than a pathetic apology once we had sent numerous emails. Have used Savills before and not had a problem but the Guildford branch is a joke! I even had staff contacting me saying I had no returned the signed contract which allowed me to leave after 12months! When I insisted I had they miraculously found it!

Flat was not worth rental price. Paid for balcony space and open light accommodation. Balconies were removed and windows taped up and covered in film!

I wish I had found this website before dealing with them. The agent simply was not honest. There were misrepresentations on the way in. When a major problem occurred shortly after I moved in, he was not honest in our dealings then either. Clearly, he was vastly more interested in protecting the landlord and his fees than me....

Update: Now over a year from the incident...The Ombudsman Service determined that Savills' complaint process was not followed, therefore Theresa Wallace's Jan 14th statement was false. To date no honest investigation has been accomplished for this case by Savills. I used the Tenancy Deposit Scheme to force this letting agency to release my funds. Before the TDS could award in my favor, Savills folded as they had no leg to stand on. I also worked directly with the utility companies to re-ass....

The Agent, did not respond to problems with the heating in an appropriate time. They were hard to get hold of, did not do a thorough inventory check, and charged us £200 admin fees for exiting the property which was taken out of the deposit. Excessive charges for contract entry, and contract renewal. Overall not very compentant lettings agents and would have had more luck dealing with the landlord directly!...

Savills Islington must be the worst letting agency I have ever rented a property through. Beyond awful. Savills promised the earth and then failed to deliver. They \'forgot\' to market my house. Three weeks after employing them I discovered that not only had they not put the house on Rightmove as promised they had failed to include it on their own website. By direct contrast Hamptons let my house within 48 hours of instruction in the quiet period of August. Never have I come across such an arrogant and obnoxious couple of estate agents. Aside from their faux plummy accents they seem to have limited knowledge of the houses or the area and are frankly just rude to potential sellers. I will actively try and avoid buying a house through Savills....

Now our sale has completed and settled I just wanted to thank Andrew, Matthew and the team for all the hard work and expertise invested into my sale.
