We would NEVER use Strike.
Five months ago we placed an offer on a Strike property - Lock Keepers View, Sprotbrough DN5. After recently moving into rented accommodation to put myself and my partner in the best possible position after selling a previous property.
We placed our offer 5 months ago for the property mentioned above and providing Strike with all of their requests such as bank statements, proof of income ( to mention a few of their unreasonable requests) and a mortgage agreement in principle. However we complied as we were keen for the house - Strike informed us that until all of there requirements were completed ( via there app not an agent themself for a property advertised at £685,000 - very poor ) they would cancel any future viewing and mark the house sold subject to contract even after seeing our mortgage agreed in principle.
We were informed by Strike and the owner of the property they were relocating and buying land and would be moving into rented accommodation and actively looking to ensure the house sale would go through as quickly as possible and the condition of the sale would be getting an offer accepted on their land - which then happened a month later. This same story was being relaid to ourselves by Strike.
We since visited the property again with family after paying for our searchers and our solicitor for the property. Things took considerably longer than we expected especially considering our position and houses which had been on the market had gone through and had their new owners in - however Strike assured us that everything was being done and the exchange would be happening very soon so we sat tight for this.
This became very frustrating, however due to our love for the house we put trust into Strike.
4 months on, we became more and more concerned with Strike's slow moving progress on what was described as a 'No Chain Sale'.
After enquiries had been raised by our solicitor months since the offer being accepted and chasing with the owners solicitors and Strike.
Strike informed us 5 months later after numerous daily phone calls from ourselves to them, the owner would not be exchanging contracts without plans for her house build being accepted by the council - not having yet been accepted by the owner of the land ( these plans hadn't even reached the council yet ) - we could wait a further two months at a minimum and Strike 'would let us know when she was ready' - which was an absolutely ridiculous request. However had she get her plans refused the house was not for sale.
This was never made clear from the start. We would of never been interested in the house or even made an appointment to view the house. The property is simply not for sale.
In the meantime we have wasted 5 months of our lives to this house, plus solicitor fees and searches for a house which is not even for sale - the dishonesty and lies from Strike has been absolutely appalling.
We would never view another property with Strike again let alone place an offer - there is a lot to be said for estate agents that market themselves as 'Sell your home for free'. Megan at Strike who we have dealt with has been appalling throughout the process and did not even apologise for this diabolical experience and lies we were told.
Since this Strike has relisted the property for sale when in fact the buyer is in no position to sell and simply in the market for wasting peoples time.
I hope no body else has to ever experience this - five months wasted, search fees, solicitor fees, extreme dishonesty and underhand treatment of been led along and lied to by Strike.
