Sold our house through Pedder recently. Got off to a great start, all seemed very professional - all the local estate agents came round to see the property for the initial viewing.
From an administrative standpoint...this is not their strongest point. They messed up the price of our property and de-valued it in week 1, which was particularly irritating as we had already dropped the price significantly from changing vendors. We did get a lot of interest though (not surprising..!) so let that one go in the end, and the photographs were also really good.
Everything seem to be going smoothly with the sale, however, there was a very stressful end to proceedings as it turned out our estate agent had told our buyer to re-negotiate our stipulated completion date (11 weeks in the future at that point) at the point of exchange, which of course didn't happen until week 10. He simultaneously confirmed to us repeatedly they had agreed to the date and it was their preferred date because of their lease, so we ploughed ahead with our plans and threw in a whole load of stuff we would not have otherwise have left, since our (1st time) buyers had agreed to this date, so everyone was (seemingly) winning..
Of course, then the buyers on the advice of OUR own estate agent, then demanded we move the completion date back a month [for reasons it transpired because they never wanted to move on that date actually], just 1 week before what we believed to be exchange/completion date. Turned out they had asked to move the date right at the beginning, but this was never shared with us. We eventually were forced to relent, re-arranging all of our plans, worktrips, builders, and lost our next rental home in the process as didn't know if the sale was going to fall through or not.
Everyone was left angry at the end, which was a shame, because this should've been a really easy deal - with 1st time/no chain buyers. Since both the buyers and sellers had both been told what they wanted to hear, rather than the truth, the whole thing was unnecessarily stressful for everyone involved.
I therefore wouldn't recommend Pedder to anyone.
