For nearly a year Michael repeatedly contacted me about flat 3 ocean wharf which I was interested in buying. Throughout this period he had stated that the current service charge for the property was an amount of £4024. When I commenced reviewing the home management pack I discovered that it was a complete lie and the correct amount was £9800++. Even then he insisted that he was given the information by the seller. I question his integrity and professional ethics. Any average individual would have questioned the seller to find out why they chose to give a prior year's amount with deliberate intent to disguise the true cost.
This was not the only reason that my purchase fell through, there were other matters where neither knight frank nor the seller were upfront about the serious issues connected to the property. After spending a lot of money on legal costs and valuation I am now back to square one and a deeply disappointed buyer whose trust in estate agents has been further eroded!
The property was also fantastically overpriced which raised serious questions about the ethics of their valuation. The price was reduced several times from the time the property came on the market and they accepted my offer which was nearly £100k lower than the original asking price!!
I would warn other potential serious buyers not to fall prey to the scheming, unprofessional and underhand behaviour of this agent representing knight frank who in my opinion are already viewed as operating in a sharkish and aggressive manner.
