I have been with Haart for 2 years now, for a university property. Not one part of the whole thing was handled correctly. It appears to be run by people who have no contact with each other, have no idea what they are doing and are down right rude. Not only when our carbon monoxide alarm was going off did they not do anything to help up, even after we called up several times for help, they said 'we will call back' and then left us until 8pm at night before WE had to call again to say we had sorted it ourselves - for all they know, we were dead in bed. Then, just as the tenancy is coming to an end, they call us up (after all 4 of us had paid our rent) telling is that we were in arrears. We politely told them no, provided them with statements that we were fully paid up. On the Friday, one gentleman said 'Okay, we will sort it and call you back Monday'. On the Monday, no phone call came. So we assumed all was well. Then on the Tuesday, I get ANOTHER phone call to say that we were in arrears. I calmly explained what had happened and that we definitely had paid. We all got several rude and disrespectful phone calls telling us that we were wrong. Eventually, one of us got mad on the phone and they said 'okay we will speak to accounts and call back' - only then for them to LEAVE A VOICE MAIL saying 'Its all sorted, you have nothing to pay, apologies for confusion'. No explanation of why, how or any sincere apology as to the grief and annoyance they had caused. So when one of us called back up to find out, it turns out that they had confused us with a previous tenancy OVER TWO YEARS AGO. Not only this, but also before they even called us to tell us that we were in 'arrears', they first telephones the landlords and bad mouthed us with no good reason or proof - especially when out rent was paid AHEAD of time.
These are not the only issues by far. It took over a year to have the garden fence fixed and in this process, we received at least 5 calls a week asking what the problem was and what needed fixing. After the first week we all got tired of explaining our problem to different people, when if they just spoke to each other - it was a very simple task. It took SO long for them to organise someone to fix the fence. Every time we got a call, the person on the other end had no idea what was going on.
I will stop now before I write for several thousands of words of how imcompetent, rude and what a bad renting company this is. AFter the past two years, they still haven't managed to get anyone in to take over the property for the next academic term - the landlords are VERY displeased with them and will be cancelling their contract with them. I will never ever ever touch a property that has Haarts name next to it again and I advise anyone else the same, as I know we are not the only ones.
Comment on agent fees
For saying how much we paid - I would expect a full refund for the amount of absolute rubbish we have received in return
