On two parts, Kinleigh Folkard Hayward have completely ruined our house buying experience. I have never met an estate agent more aggressive and backhanded than Leigh Munday. We invited builders to come round to the property to assess some damage and quote it for us. He made it clear that the seller would pull out of the sale if we did this. When we approached the seller, it was clear that this conversation had never taken place and they welcomed us in doing so. Leigh even told us when we first met him that he had added £30,000 on top of the property worth to 'try his luck'. It couldn't have been clearer just how little he cared for those involved the buying/selling process, so much so that we ousted Leigh and completed the process with a different agent. Lee has no human decency, is severely lacking in morals, and is an embarrassment to KFH. We then used KFH Surveyors to carry out a survey - we were told that structural surveys on flats are not possible. 2 weeks into living in the property, having had the roof surveyed and rated a condition1 (perfect) - we experienced such bad leaking that we had no choice but to spend £15,000 on a completely new roof. The three roofing contractors who came out to see it, and an independent surveyor, expressed their total and utter dismay and said that whoever surveyed the property should never be allowed to again. You can't help but think they took their chances and confided to get the sale over the line. In short - Kinleigh Folkard Hayward are an embarrassment to the property industry and I would highly advise that you steer clear.
Comment on agent fees
Fees are typically fees in London and they're competitive like the rest.
