There has been a long, protracted history with this letting however I will do my best to paraphrase the situation.
On the 9th of September – I was provided with the Checkout Report and was asked to confirm my bank details for processing the return of the bond deposit.
I responded the same day with said details and sent numerous chase emails to get the value of the proposed deductions from the landlord (12th, 19th Sept and 3rd October).
On the 4th of October I was provided with a value.
We agreed on £240 deductions with the caveat that the payment is processed promptly (this is explicitly stated in the email).
I was advised the funds would be in my account within 3-5 working days.
After a week of no funds being received I called the Account Manager Rhys – who after some debate- apologised as it transpired he has transferred it to the wrong account. He had transferred the money to my ex-partner another tenant on the agreement.
The deposit was paid in cash, the rental payments have been coming from my account for the last 18 months , it does not state in the contract the bond would be paid to the listed Lead Tenant, at no point was I advised this would be the case and as stated, quite conversely, I was asked for the bank details to process the payment into – which I provided.
I couldn't even check with the TDS what details they had because I asked Peter Alan for the TDS reference number on 03/10/16 and it was not provided.
I am not in contact with ex-partner and have no means of getting my funds returned. My ex moved out of the property 2 years ago. Peter Alan were notified but advised they couldn't change the contract midterm.
The only resolution Peter Alan senior management are providing is an apology and we will try and chase down Leighanne and get the funds returned" and I'll then need to go through a dispute with the TDS.
In my experience Peter Alan have a culture of ineptitude and total disdain for their customers . I have been severely inconvenienced and am out of pocket due to their actions but no remediation is forthcoming
