Awful, Awful company and level of service. Treat a tenant like dirt. I rented a property for 12 months and the landlord decided they wanted the property back. I left the property spotless, spending hours cleaning this and got verbal approval from the tenant all was ok. Vacated the property, took 6 weeks with chasing to get my deposit back, minus £100 - £70 was in vacating fee (read the small print - you agreed to it!!) and then £30 for a cleaning bill which I disputed. The landlord said they never claimed the cleaning bill after I challenged them, Goodchilds cannot provide any evidence of the request from the landlord - I have written twice and phoned on 2 other occasions. With the lack of evidence being provided and Goodchilds not offering a reasonable explanation I can only assume they have made up the bill and just decided to hold back some of my deposit. Am absolutely furious with them and will seek a way to get this published somehow wherever I can advising people to never go into any letting situation with this company. Reading all the negative views on this site I am not the only one to have been subjected to such service. My advice to all is to steer clear! They only have an interest in serving the landlord and no interest in the tenant....listen to the stupid voice over recording when you are on hold for 15 minutes and not one work about offering any service to the tenant!

I am of course sorry to have seen the above, we always strive to provide the very best service here at Goodchilds and do believe that you have been speaking to my colleague Amy with regards to this.
In the review you mentioned that the checkout fee was in the small print, I must stress this is not the case and the fee is in the tenancy agreement along with all the other important clauses regarding your tenancy.
We have since received a letter from you and we have replied to you enclosing an email regarding confirming that there was a request for cleaning, and this is not something Goodchilds have not just decided to charge.
Finally your deposit was always also protected with a government based scheme 'MyDeposit' who will have acted as Arbitrator.
