We originally instructed another agent, based in Northfields. They displayed total inertia and seemed very unmotivated, so I got fed up and instructed Tuffin and Wren. I wish we had from the offset, as they'd been recommended to us when we first moved to the area a few years ago. Also, Deborah is a proudly local lady, who knows Hanwell intimately, loves the place and is invested in the area as she has a family here. She is exactly the person to show prospective buyers around because she can answer their questions. I remember asking a few agents to come round for a valuation, when we first decided to sell our house. I was amazed that some of the firms (I'm thinking of one, famous big name in particular) sent round people who were clearly not suitable for people-facing roles. I felt uncomfortable with some of the agents round my house, so I had no idea how on earth buyers would be persuaded by them. When Deborah and Sophie came round, they clearly worked well as a team, were extremely personable and I imagined that I would place faith in them if I were a buyer. Both my husband and I are extremely impressed with the service we got. They were really pro-active with marketing the property, they were brilliant with keeping us up-to-date with how it was going - how many viewings, feedback etc, and once they got us the offer we were prepared to accept (no mean feat in current conditions), they really went into overdrive to get the sale through. I think a lot of agents who are on a salary, or perhaps who work for a big brand name, think their work is done once an offer has been accepted. This is absolutely not true. The conveyancing process is a pain, and requires handling and motivating of the vendor, the buyer, the solicitors for both and surveyors etc. I was incredibly impressed with how much gusto and work they put into this. Sophie was the conduit between all these different people, and was on top of everything, all of the time. Any queries were answered quickly and I genuinely felt that they were doing their best for us, and the house. These people take their work really personally and most importantly - work REALLY hard, and that basically made us really happy to have them on board. Finally - I get really annoyed with firms where you're asking an agent to sell your most important asset, the family home, and their policy is not to disclose a mobile number. I am sure it's quite stressful for agents but it makes a huge difference knowing that Tuffin and Wren value the importance of communication, so we were able to contact the agents (within office hours, of course) easily. In a nutshell - if you're selling in the area, def go with them.
