Hi Karen, we're experiencing very similar problems with them. Their charges are so unjustified for the little work they do and think it's fair to just charge you hundreds of ร‚ยฃ's extra without consulting you etc. Are you paying the fee? Disgraceful would be complimentary, these criminals in suits stopped all services at my development for a couple of years, yet expected people to continue paying maintenance charges. The grass was 2 ft high, lighting drainpipes etc broken, back door rotten and not secure etc etc. I had to clean, .paint and vacuum internal areas myself to attract a tenant, albeit at a reduced rental price They kept bleating about not having money in the kitty, money has been haemorrhaged out somewhere in the past...

I am in dispute with this company and on investigating it seems there are many disatisfied homeowners out there being forced to pay extortionate amounts of money for nothing. First Port need investigating. They charged all the residents for a fence that was appartently painted but never done, infact the fence was rotting.Also charged us all for white lines to be painted in the communal carpark (which we all said would be a eyesore and rejected the idea) However, they still charged us when no lines were painted. They apparnetly do a site visit every few weeks so why on earth didnt the site manager see there were no lines but continued to charge us.......the list goes ...

Fees are a day light robbery, since their fees are 15% on whatever is spend on maintenance and services to the building. For the approximately £500,000 a year in service charges we get a minimalistic serviceร‚ย whereร‚ย maintenance is done in a reactive manner under emergency circumstances and without adequate supervision of the works. This results in poor quality fixes which have to be re-done often on multiple occasions. This of course suits FP business model which also allows for; รขโ‚ฌยข ineffective competition for contracts รขโ‚ฌโ€œ which are often subcontracts with multiple layers (+ VAT and commission in each) รขโ‚ฌยข lack of supervision not only in emergency but routine maintenance รขโ‚ฌโ€œ so works have to be re-done. An excellent example is window cleaning, where FP increased the budget by 175% to increase the frequency of cleaning, instead of supervising the quality of the service provided, which still is a problem at hand. Seven month of meetings andร‚ย รขโ‚ฌหœcommunicationรขโ‚ฌโ„ข have not been enough to get our budget under control andร‚ย properly planed.ร‚ย We had an adjustment charge of 6% on the 29 of June 2017 of the estimated budget for this year plus 2.5% that was increased from last year budget, a total of 8% of an extremely unappropriated budgeting. This means that instead of the 17.8% arbitrary, illegal and not consulted increase in January 2017, we must accept an 8.25% increase, way above 2016 inflation and without a knowledgeable explanation!

FirstPort are absolutely awful. Huge monthly fees to do virtually nothing, expect possibly mop a floor every 2 weeks. Very poor customer service, written multiple emails with no helpful responses. Small flat in block of 3 paying a massive £180 a month. Sought legal advice and now pursuing 'Right to Manage' as I discovered another identical block had done this and were paying only £55 monthly. My advice is do not get caught up in trying to reason with this awful company, take back control using legislation which is designed for just this reason....

Horrendous service, I have made 4 complaints now regarding rats in the block now entering my kitchen and causing damage, I have received one reply in the 4.5 months I have been trying to raise this as a call out to say they would pass it on and no further response at all. This refers to Sovereign Ct retirement flats in Bognor Regis. 3 years ago in 2014, we request our 14 Velux windows be serviced, the double/triple glazing had blown and the draft seals did not exclude drafts. This company is the worst I have encountered in my entire life. It is simply shocking that they are allowed to trade in this country. They send random and unjustified requests for money, and any attempts at challenging their unreasonable requests is ignored, then followed by £60 charges, then followed by threaths of legal action. Rebranded company name form solitaire to Om to first port, same useless overpriced service received over 12 years. Property and estate in disrepair min input max cost. A 1 bed flat in Kent costing over 2000 pound annually. Day light robbery and 40 % higher than the first year. They don't know their elbows from their bums and are only interested in making money. Complete incompetence! I'm honestly lost for words - FirstPort are possibly the most incompetent, useless company I've ever come across... I reported a roof leak just over five weeks ago and it still hasn't been fixed - despite many emails and phone calls. After being charged the earth for no service the residents voted for self management some 12 years ago. This was agreed with the Property Management company just paying for the public liability insurance and the electricity bill for two street lights. We have self managed the communal areas and driveway for a fraction of the costs we were being charged. This recent job Purchase Order of โ€š£600 for a job we had carried out for less than โ€š£100 demonstrates excessive charges and justifies self management.

This company is awful. You try to resolve issues and no responses. The manager of each complex decides what happens to your money invested in building. No door mats around as of health and safety but got flower vases through out the building even on fire exits!! One lift so if there is a fire or it breaks, you have to walk up the stairs. Run for the hills. These people are happy to take your money but will not repair or do any maintenance needed. I have been chasing now for several months for a maintenance issue and have been fobbed off every time. Do not purchase accommodation if they are managing the property. Absolutely dreadful service. The management of the property is clumsy, expensive and with delays. They charge us a full time salary for an onsite caretaker, who is actually working on call for several other properties. They don't reply to complaining e-mails, when you talk to them on the phone they are patronising, rude and trying to intimidate complainers....

This company re-branded from their previous name, OM Property. This was presumably because that name had become so toxic (ranked at the bottom of in excess of 18,000 companies). Unfortunately the rebrand has not extended to changing their work practices. I have lived at my property for 2 years and 3 months. First port have NEVER completed any work whatsoever on the communal areas adjacent to my property as they are contracted to do. They have admitted to this and are completely aware of it....
