Do not use Churchill lettings, walthamstow and beware of the property manager, Chris Williams. I had all the warning signs but didn\'t heed them because I was in a rush - but not only are Churchill\'s largely incompetent, they are highly unethical too. I was a landlord, who after terrible service, put it down to bad experience, gave notice after the year was up and was looking forward to moving on, only to be told that when I signed the contract there was a badly worded clause that said I had to give 12 months notice. Left messages that after viewing the property that I was happy to rent the place, asked for the necessary paperowrk to be sent to me, nothing, phoned, nothing, text-nothing, emailes-nothing, phoned the company and afte difficulties of always being a busy line left a message for marissa-NOTHING.and have checked the property is still for rental (not good for the landlord either) Would not recommend them to anyone if renting or purchasing,...

thanks for the comments however are further investigation it has been discovered that this review was made by someone who wanted to place a deposit but wouldn't do so. The landlord was aware of the offer and when the client came back insisting we llet them the place the landlord would not proceed with the new offer as our client was worried that they may be difficult. It is always hard to let someone down and the review shows that they are disgruntled because we wouldn't let them a property, but....

Experience has been appalling from start to end. We viewed the property paid a holding deposit and then were told the rent had increased! We agreed to pay I had already given notice to my previous landlord. They were very unhelpful at tenancy renewal point - then failed to tell the landlord I had requested earlier end date - I ended up discussing directly with the landlord after 3 months of waiting for Churchill\'s to deal with it, who agreed the early end date. I found Churchill Lettings to be very incompetent, uncommunicative and generally useless. Came to them via Rightmove asking to view a property turned out it had gone but we were told about another. I said I wanted to view it. This took them four days to sort out with no communication in-between. Just when I was about to give up they finally came back and said they had sorted a viewing. We went to see it and were told not to mention to the landlady we had a cat and that they would speak to her...

Email when they say they will. Not let us view properties that had already gone Speak to the other staff within their office - total lack of communication between the agents seemed to result in wasted trips.

Great at taking your money but hopeless after that: Endless chasing to no avail, items lost and misplaced, repairs left undone. If you decide to rent with this lot be prepared to do everything yourself. unprofessional and unreliable to the extreme....

I can agree, this agent commissions works to be carried out on your property without notifying the landlord then boldly lie saying it wasnt them. they fail to return calls, in fact, the manager Andrew would rather sit at the back of the office and let his negotiators deal with the problems and when they cant be bothered to speak to the landlord then he gets head office involved. poor customer service skills, and that applies to ALL of them in Walthamstow!....

Rented through Churchills for six years in three different flats and have always found them great, my last landlord though was an ass and would never let Churchills spend a penny on anything other than the absolute essentials, i did get very fed up and blamed Churchills entirely however i moved 18 months ago into my new flat the landlord is a peach and churchills get everything done promptly and their builder Tony who had to replaster a wall after some damp treatment even hoovered up after himse...

I have dealt with Churchills for 10 years and have found all the staff helpful. Andrew in particular is very knowledgable and really helped us especially when we had a tenant that had a mental breakdown and stopped paying rent. I agree that the new charges are a suprise but I for one wouldnt change for the world and they are worth every penny...

Useless in every respect. When we first approached them they sent a (seemingly) very nice chap around called Andrew who charmed us and made a lot of promises about their excellent level of service. Once the contract was signed, he promptly disappeared and since then we've been forced to deal with a bunch of incompetents who don't answer emails, don't offer even a basic level of customer service and generally don't give a toss. Agree with that. In the property 2.5 years. I never saw them carry out a trace of maintenance as per their agreement with the landlord. When we moved in, the garden was overgrown. 6 months later, we got a letter saying the because the landlord had to send a relative round to do the work, we were liable for this. Its funny but if tenants are to believed agents never do anything, our job is to manage but without the landlords agreement we end up in between a rock and very hard place indeed, but to say that an agent has never done any maintenance works is mad and I am sure we can prove you wrong....
