I have never known such bad practice! 3 times I was promised a return call from Kate and also promised she would contact the landlord. I received no calls what so ever. I complained and was promised a call from the manager. Needless to say I did not receive one from her either. I fear she didn't have guts to tell me the property had gone. I rented the same house from Chelton Brown for over 7 years and in all that time they acted professionally and any problems with any aspect of my property were dealt with quickly and without fuss. They are terrible and unfair. The first thing is that they are raising the price after half a year. I had this situation and know some other people which have the same. As a tenant who's agent is Chelton Brown I have experienced nothing but rudeness both in person and on the phone by most if not all staff i've been in contact with. They are slow to report and arrange repairs and their workforce that does them is so bad that repeated repairs for shoddy workmanship are frequent. Please avoid these letting agents at all costs. They will try to screw you over at the end of the tenancy and claim the deposit no matter what condition you leave the property in. Luckily we took photos of our place on the day we moved out and won some of the money back when we raised a dispute with the TDS. We have been letting property through Chelton Brown for 3 years and been fortunate enough to have purchased 1 property each year to date which Chelton Brown manage for us. As a portfolio landlord in Northampton I have used Chelton Brown for a number of years to find my tenants. I can not rate them highly enough, and would recommend their tenant find service to any local landlord. At a cost of only £250 this service is very good value. Awful experience. Constantly harrased for money. I sent renewal fee in via post & dropped a cheque into the office. Both lost & threatend with eviction even tho I had never delayed or missed. They are horrible. Their motto is \'let and forget\'. They did nothing from those things which they promised before I\'ve let it. They are \'loosing\' important post. Because of that gas company wants to cut the gas - somebody din\'t pay the bill. All post is given to them and women responsible for it is (ly)saying that she didn\'t received this post. After reading both reviews, I would be more inclined to believe the tennant. They obviously would not have breached their contract by moving out if the letting agent had bothered to organise repair of the window! Rather than passing the buck to ease their conscience they should have sorted the problem out rather than leaving it for 4 months, thus forcing the tennant to take major action and move out. If the letting agent "does not profit from these types of situations" then why do....

whilst using chelton brown , it taken me 2 months to ask them to come and fix the boiler as i had no hot water or heating in my apartment, they never fixed the plug sockets that had no power to them for the entire rental period and they left horrible voicemails towards the end .
