I have had 4 properties with them for over 10 years. In each property I have had issues, that ended up costing me money. They don't check properties often (in one I had a butterfly mural painted on an entire wall, which they failed to spot). Overall every property ended up damaged and costing me money each year - I estimate Belvoir cost me between £30,000 - £50,000 in repairs - don't touch them!!...

Most awful agent. Had awful experience with the so called director dealing with maintenance issues-being heating and hot water-to the point I had to call environmental health who stepped in- I was quickly told to leave the property by them and 2 weeks later still no final inspection, no deposit and there is now a formal complaint to the ombuddsman and is I am in the process of starting court proceedings-do not rent from these people- I have a child with health issues and they didnt seem to...

We have rented from Belvoir! for a couple of years, and the process of getting in is more expensive than most, so you expect better service. They do not actually provide good service though. Contacting Belvoir for any reason leads to a long wait on a phone line, followed by being cut off. When leaving Belvoir, they will take everything they can off you. We were told that they wanted to take away 80% of our deposit, so called the landlord, who said that he had told them that only 15% is was he as...

Higher than anyone else in the local area, we fell in love with the house, not the agents.

I used Belvoir as a first time landlord. Initially everything was fine, but then one day I got a call stating that the cooker spur lead to the meter would need replacing at a cost of around £1,500 + VAT. I got a second opinion from an electrician, and they tested the lead, and found the problem was with the hob itself - solution replace the hob. At the end of the tenancy I paid Belvoir to put the property back in the condition it was at the start of the tenancy - this included the g...

Used independent tradesmen, or at least declared there was a conflict of interest. Repay monies paid for work not carried out.

I arranged to meet them at a house. After an hours drive, I arrive and wait and no one shows up. I call them and explain what's happened - the first time I ring the person on the other line pretended she couldn't hear me. I then again on a private number and ask if they can hear me first and they said yes, so I explained again what happened. The woman told me that they tried to phone me earlier as the property was actually already sold and I had just come this way for no reason. She didn't even...

Absolutly appailing, when the end of ennancy was up, the amount of things that they tried to charge us for and the amount of money they quoted to do the work was absolutly disgraceful, and completley unecessery by anyones stretch of the imagination. they find it extremley difficult to communicate takes 2 days to respond to an email and even then they just keep repeating themselves !! They quite clearly only give a damn about the tennant when your paying the rent the minute the tennancy is ove...

DO NOT use this letting agency. Slow to response to house maintenance problems or issues. Not Tenant-friendly. It will take a long time to refund back your deposit and will give you excuses when you call them to inquire about your deposit. The agency expect you to abide with the Tenancy Agreement but they don't abide by it and disregard the Agreement when it's to their advantage. Stay clear and find some other letting agency....

Dear Jermiah, Belvoir Peterborough is extremely disappointed to read your comments and sincerely apologise if you feel you have not received the high level of service you expected. Belvoir Peterborough is passionate about customer service and is deeply committed to solving genuine complaints. The vast majority of tenants understand that a property will require remedial maintenance at some stage during a tenancy, and specialist maintenance contractors are often unable to attend a property i....

From day 1 these are the problems encountered - after two months, nothing has been rectified: 1. the damage to walls, 2. damage to the stairway ceiling, 3. stained ceilings in the bedrooms and kitchen, 4. leaking kitchen sink drain which necessitated a plumber to replace the drain connection on Tuesday 14th October. 5. holes in the lounge room floor, 6. loose outside garden fence (behind the garden shed), 7. missing instructions for the boiler programmer, 8. missing cover from the boiler...

Very quick and efficient in getting viewings and application sorted out. However found that after you receive the keys, they do not want to know. There was mould in the fridge, dust from works, both extractor fans broken, including above the hob (all still not fixed after 6 months), lights/fixings not working properly (had some bulbs missing and some already blown), a door handle missing and no instructions on how to use the appliances. This is how I was given the property, and had people ignor...

Can\'t speak about Belvoir in the rest of the country but the Peterborough office is a real cowboy outfit, do not use them. I had a problem with my boiler which took them months to fix despite numerous calls resulting in huge water bills which they refused to help me with. I had to change the agreement half way through the tenancy when my flatmate moved out, was told she had been removed from the tenancy agreement when she hadn\'t. This resulted in me losing my deposit to her even though she ha...

I was a first time landlord when I came to Belvoir some years ago now and found their knowledge and advice to be invaluable when starting out. I have always found the staff to be helpful, fully trained and polite with excellent knowledge of the local area. Overall the tenancies have gone without a hitch- I did have an issue with one tenant who fell into rent arrears and refused to vacate the property however thankfully Belvoir had set up a rent and legal insurance policy for me so the process w...

Utterly appalling from the start. No hot water for 10 days, the keys barely opened the doors even with their \'trained\' staff, took 3 weeks of chasing to get a door both me and my partner could open. The balcony was coming off the walls and this took 6 weeks to fix. All requests to repair needed several calls to chase. Completely rude, they missed appointments and called stating the rent hadn\'t been paid when it had, no apologies were ever given. The dvd inventory costed £40 but took 5 m...

Care for the tenant, check things work before they rent properties and actually do what they say first time round. The handling of the dvd inventories and deposits needs vast improvement. Oh and attend all viewings rather than blaming you for them not being in their diary or leaving you in the rain outside a building for an hour!
