Not sure which Branch in Exeter but bizarre service from one of their selling agents. I viewed a property and expressed an interest in buying and discussed possible prices with the agent. The agent told me that he would get back to me within a day after speaking to the sellers, who are overseas. Ten days later no return call from agent. I follow it up and the sellers did get back to him and give a response. But agent didn't pass it on to me. No response regarding a second viewing request. If I...

This was my first time renting a property through a letting agent and the whole experience was appalling from start to finish. These people are not to be trusted at all. I paid a £2300 deposit naively believing that I would get it back as long as the property was in a good state. They had no intention of returning any money and went to great lengths to create a check out report and estimated cost of work needing doing based on complete lies. Aiden Shears is an arrogant, nasty individual bl...

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE TO RENT! Just try somewhere else. I am renting a floor of a house and the soundproofing is so horrible that I can hear my neighboors upstairs in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY (everything, including intimate stuff that no one should be able to hear). I can't sleep when I need to sleep, I get woken up late at night and early in the morning from the noise... I don't know much about how agencies choose the properties that they rent. However, surely you have to make sure that the place t...

Rude beyond belief. Hazardous property - senior staff clearly not interested, don't reply to emails, sound bored rigid if you do manage to speak to them, talk to me as though I'm something they've scraped off the bottom of their shoe. Appalling attitude - I pay £900 a month for the house and there are a stack of safety issues, back door doesn't lock, fire doors don't self close, 2nd floor window doesn't always close, no lights on stairwells, locks faulty on bathrooms....

This agency is absolutely horrific. Avoid at all costs. They do not inspect theor properties properly. I moved into a disgusting state, no electricity. The flat through the year I was there needed numerous repairs, included a terrible damn and mould problem. I had to move out in the end due to health for myself and child. When moving out I took down my wardrobes which were destroyed by the damp in the bathroom. My clothes, shoes, wardrobes, photos etc were ruined I lost hundreds of pounds, despi...

Buying a house through Fulfords was an extremely unpleasant experience. They did little to negotiate between vendor and buyer smoothly and in my opinion added significantly to the stress each party felt during this process. I would NOT recommend this branch of Fulfords to anyone buying or selling a house. We feel so strongly that we have written to Fulfords with a formal complaint about our experience. We understand our vendor has also done the same....

Honesty, courtesy, customer care and professionalism are words that, in our bitter experience, could never be associated with Countrywide Residential Letting and their subsidiary, Fulfords Lettings of Exmouth. It is glaringly obvious that they are interested only in making money – by any means. In our short but unhappy dealings with this organisation, they were grossly dishonest, indifferent, rude and amateur in all their dealings. So much so that we took them to the Property Ombudsman...

Your comments have been some what blown out of proportion. The reason I have rated this agent as poor is due to the lack of communication and support throughout the selling process. I was selling my uncles house through a lasting power of attorney. Even during quieter periods they maintained communication with us giving us a tremendous feeling of support throughout the whole process and removing all feelings of being Β’Γ’β€šΒ¬Γ‹Ε“on our own'. Had a pre Tenancy exchange of emails agreeing that I would rent for the fixed term of 6 months plus about 2 months on Periodic Tenancy - agreed that no further fees were payable for this. This is because I am buying a new build and it is not ready. Basically I find out that Fulfords had no intention of honouring this agreement. I get a letter 4 months in offering me another 6 months fixed term, I remind them about the agreement we have and they ignore me. Basically pay more fees or get out. ...

Wesley was initially our main contact. He talked us through the whole process and came up with a realistic valuation and we achieved a quick sale. Unfortunately we hit quite a few snags along the way including the loss of the house we were buying, which made the whole process quite protracted and stressful. Wesley and Sarah were very supportive and kept our buyers on-side and were always on-hand with good advice. They may not be the cheapest but they did a good job for us and as they say you ...

Fulfords are good old fashioned estate agents that fit all the stereotypes so if you want to deal with charmless, ruthless money hungry individuals with lower moral standards than most of Exeter prison's population then they are the team for you. They will consistently market properties well below the market value in order to create early interest and subsequent bidding wars in which they play one party off against the next whilst constantly over valuing the property. Gazumped is no doubt a ...

Then upon checkout the documents where incorrectly filled out, resulting in huge fines for scuffs to one wall whilst the rest of the property was immaculate , after all this it is now 42 days since check out and we are still waiting for our deposit and have been told repeatedly " oh the office hasn't done the paper work yet" STOP passing...

Where to start... 1 start is more than deserved. Firstly, we had to chase them to pay deposits, sign papers etc just days before moving. Bearing in mind they knew we were moving from London. On arriving at 6pm to collect keys we were told we had the wrong paper work... Even though we had done all paperwork sent. They left us at6pm in the cold with a baby refusing keys. Turned out the incredibly efficient Lilly faraday-white had posted them to our London address that day?? Maybe a lesson in ho...

I've had the same problem with Neil from Fulfords in Paignton. I moved out a month ago and still haven't received my deposit because I didn't physically hand the keys to him in person of Friday evening. Also had problems with lack of communication from sister partnership county wide. Still tried charging me rent after I moved out! He was rude on the phone to me talking down to me like a child. Utterly disappointed with his level of service. I strongly recommend not to let with Fulfords...moving ...

I sold my house with Fulfords, Drake Circus branch within a week of putting it on the market. My contact there was mostly with Lindsey Hallworth and she was present at all my viewings and her memory of the smallest details astounded me. Later in the proceedings, when things seemed grindingly slow, she acted as an efficient go-between and frankly. kept everyone sane! My sincere thanks to her and her patience and I am now happily living in my new home. If you are considering moving, then I wo...

Thank You for your feedback above, I would like to say that within the time this house was on the market with Fulfords regular updates were provided by the team including visits to the property myself to retake photos and to discuss ways to try to generate more interest. The property was of course matched and emailed to many prospective purchasers with follow up calls to try and book viewings, sadly no one booked a viewing on this property. The £238.80 (this is a non customer related service) ...

Booked an evening viewing with this agent. Arrived on time. After waiting outside for 20 minutes it was clear that they weren\'t going to make the appointment. Incredibly frustrating as it is a 2 hour round trip from where we live to the property. Extremely unprofessional. We didn\'t get any phone call to let us know that they were not going to attend. Fulfords - keep your appointments! Show some common courtesy for your prospective customers!...

Very unimpressed with Fulfords\' Exeter branches. Since viewing a property through them I\'ve been pestered with countless emails and telephone calls, despite having asked them several times to remove my details from their emailing/call list. They even decided they would pass my mobile number onto other property developers without my permission (is this legal?!). Very unprofessional and I hope that I do not have to deal with this estate agents in the future....

Avoid at all costs! We recently bought a property through Fulfords. We were bullied, guzzumed, lied to consistently through the purchasing process. It was only through getting involved with the vendor did we even honestly know what was going on. I wouldn't recommend selling, purchasing, renting or letting with Fulfords. My partner and I went into the shop to ask for the details of a property that we were interested in that we had seen in the window. I contacted Fulfords with regards to renting a property in Exeter. At the viewing they tried to push me into signing immediately on promise of the fees being reduced. It took 10 days from when I placed my property with Fulfords for them to upload the details onto their own and other websites. After persistent chasing I was told this was due to computer \'uploading problems\' and that it was only with my property, not with others. They do not use newspaper advertising so I lost the only way of promoting the property other than word of mouth. They did then find me tenants, but the tenants backed out before references had been taken up. The property had been tak...

All the agent needed to have done in this case is admit the errors at an early stage enabling things to be put right without delay,be truthful and commmunitive and be available and contactable by returning calls etc. These factors should be the base of any professional business which is sadly lacking here and the branch obviously needs taking over by someone with basic decency ,drive and focus on customer care and provide value for the thousands of pounds that a sale provides.

Agent terribly unhelpful on entering the office - not understand the needs of a buy-to-let investor in any way what so ever - and neither did anyone in this nice looking, big office. On rechecking the internet they failed to flag many properties. They had no idea of what charges or leases were on many of their properties. Their entries on the web often fail to show any info including dimensions! (mainly for smaller 1 bed properties). All in all highly insufficient for the "market leader&quo...

Fulfords are a disgrace. I received notification of an increase in my monthly water bill from £35 to £163 and a few days later Fulfords demanded a rent increase from £725 to £760. I refused to pay the extra rent as the water problem is related to issues in the flat, some of which remain unresolved. I received a letter giving me notice so I stopped my standing order. I found another flat to let with Stags - in the same block but in a better position with the same rent ...

I've just ended a tenancy with Fulfords after having nothing but hassle from them for the last 18 months. Firstly, when we viewed the property we were asked to pay £200 to take the property of the market, we were lead to believe that this money would be deducted from the deposit, not so, seems the agent was lying. Fulfords have taken almost two years to sell my partner's property where we both live. They have been sluggish in the extreme, hardly ever doing an accompanied viewing. Their method of 'selling properties' is simply showing people around. They are, without exception, disinterested, sullen and ill informed. The saving grace of the Plymstock branch is the receptionist who, whilst being very friendly, insists on referring to everyone as darlin'. Tres professional! A very down market company. ...

I have had the very unpleasant experience of renting a house with Fulfords over the past year. Whilst in the industry customer service is importnat and should never be overlooked, the above comment is not uncommon amongst other frustrated and perhaps inexperienced buyers. You need to remember that the agent is employed to act on behalf of the vendor. Providing that the agent passes on all information, it is the vendors decision on whether he/she accepts a higher offer. If the agent is part of the ombudsman scheme, there is a clause stating that agent sshiuld charge fixed fees. Therefor ...
