I rented with Ashby Lowery in Northampton and I advise stay away from them. I had the ceiling in the bathroom collapsing because of the neighbour upstairs and it took 3 weeks to get it sorted. Just bought house through Ashby lowery, Amanda Gibson was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, always polite and courteous. The vendor was an absolute nightmare. Slow, non responsive in fact he didn't care if or when the property sold or complete. Amanda kept the sale going even when it looked like falling through. Fantastic experience from beginning to end with Ashby Lowery. At every contact all staff members have been very helpful, friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Very disappointing and frankly disgusted at the services provided by Ashby Lowery. Throughout the whole tenancy they have been what I can only describe as a complete nightmare, and if you ask me, that's still to kind. I'm not usually the one for writing reviews but this companies expertise enabled me to achieve more than I initially thought possible when selling my house this year. The property was not an easy house to sell as it had particular features not of general appeal being an older property with a very large garden. The agent managed the process very well to ensure that all viewings were meaningful and positive. The negotiations over the selling price were well handled and we achieved an outcome that was the best we had expected. Dear John. Let's be absolutely clear about one thing. We did not take anything from your deposit, THE LANDLORD DID for repainting the house when they decide to do it. We receive nothing from what the landlord wishes to retain, there is no benefit whatsoever to us. If you are dissatisfied by the landlords actions then you can take the matter to the TDS arbitration as that is exactly what I would do if I felt as it seems you do. The property I was living in was rented by myself and a friend. Our experience with Ashby Lowery didn't get off to a good start. Standard introduction procedure. Was relieved they didn't try charge a 'holding fee' unlike a nearby bunch of crooks tried to lay on me. It is interesting to note that this matter was disputed and that the arbitration ensured the landlord received £40 towards the cleaning of his flat that was left considerably less clean than when this tenant moved out. Address and tenant name available upon request. D Wilson.....

I have contacted Ashby Lowery on two occasions via email to ask if they valued properties in Wellingborough as I am considering selling my property. I choose this agent as I had been told that they were pretty good. As yet I've not had a response from anyone and that was over seven days ago. I shall not be contacting them again....

When we have incurred void periods Ashby Lowery have advised on any appropriate improvements to ensure that the property is vacant for minimal period. Landlords beware, despite the notion of \'inspections\' suggested on the website these are never carried out! I live near to flat full of their tenants and they have single handedly turned a beautiful respected neighbourhood in to a wretched place to be. Bins r over fliwing at the brim in the firecourt, rubbish is strewn all over the street spilling on to the road. Dear Reena, as you well know and as I confirmed in my email last week, the deposit should be returned within 14 working days of the tenancy end and yours was returned in accordanmce with this requirement. You were also made aware that, had the property been returned at the end of the tenancy in the same condition as when it was rented then we would not have needed to get a cleaner in to clean it and the speed of the deposit return would have been improved as we would not have needed to make ded....
