Same here, although it's 'only' been a month for me. I requested my deposit back in writing, agreed deductions with the landlord (because I had not choice), and filled in the paperwork. Bridgfords/Countrywide, York, have released my deposit from the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and banked it in their own business account. Kind and polite... until they receive your payments. After that, forget about them. They won't be of any help, totally useless. They become very responsive again at check out, when they will find a way to deduct what they can from your deposit. Useless. Avoid....

I first let the properly 4 years ago but remember that the fees were nearly double that of competitors. Fee to renew the property also seemed high considering we sent back our signed agreements and never got copies back that were signed by the landlord.
