Dear Reviewer After reading your review I have to say that I am astounded by your comments and quite distressed that you feel you have been treated in this way. In my branch we are all very professional, helpful and never rude. From your comments, I can only assume that you are refering to our offshore team who mainly deal with outstanding rent. To say you have been continually verbally abused is quite damming and something I am taking very seriously. To investigate this further and to d ...

Countrywide should be more transparent and reveal ALL charges at the outset of the tenancy. Also WHY is there such an exhorbitant fee every time the tenancy is renewed. All it takes is a printing of a form and it signed, a 5 minute task for which a moderate fee of ‚£20 would be more apt if anything at all.

What agent could do to change your mind?
The Agent must understand that the customer is a tenant. A branch manager like Andrea does not seem to have the business sense to understand who is and isn't a customer. A customer has the right to choose a service and the right to exit from the service when there is a need to. People like Andrea have left a indelible mark on my impression of letting agencies which needless to say remains negative. If she had displayed patience and politeness in her dealings with me, I would have been less stressed and my impression of them wold have been positive. But sadly this woman's behavior leaves me in bitter taste.

Agent was incompetent; I used to be an estate agent, worked in lettings and run my own estate and lettings agency. The service and attitude is one I have never encountered at any other estate agents or lettings, even other Countrywide offices. To improve the agent in question must, set up basic training, put basic procedures in place, oversee the first months training. To leave someone in this state and to respond with prove it, is wholly unprofessional, inadequate and no sense of customer service.

Don't wait for tenants to follow up on problems they have already complained about. Give deposit money back when you say you will as some of us depend on that money.

I think Countrywide operate in a such a way that their staff can not be bothered to ensure Landlords interests are protected. The bottom line is they want their fees, they get us to pay for legal protection and then ensure their fees are the first thing protected! it is an immoral racket made worse by the benefits and bleeding heart culture of the UK where individuals are encouraged to exploit homeowners and the benefit system so they can remain jobless and live for free. I have encountered no professional pride or integrity in any dealings so it is hopeless to imagine change is possible.
