I've bought and sold a number of houses and I have found Bridges to be the worst estate agents. I won’t use them again. I have tried to work with them regarding my concerns but there was no improvement, despite chasing them and eventually making a complaint (which they closed without addressing any concerns). They've had plenty of opportunities to resolve this but they haven't so here I am writing a review to warn others! My contact was the branch manager in Farnborough ("T"). At the start he seemed enthusiastic, professional, helpful and it was my understanding that we were on the same page. I made it clear that I wanted to sell my house but I'd acknowledged various difficulties in the housing market and for this reason I asked if he felt there as anything I could do help sell my property. I was told "you've done it all". I asked him and his team to let me know if there was anything I could do to change the property once they start doing viewings and receive feedback. This all changed after I signed up. All communication from him stopped - in fact during our contract term nobody contacted me to discuss my property. Other agents would call me to check in. Two properties came for sale on my road with other agents and sold. Viewings would go ahead on my property and I wouldn't hear anything. After a few days I would follow up asking for feedback and it would go to voicemail so I'd have to wait for them to call me (to book further viewings). I would frequently be told; i) we haven't been able to contact the people ii) I didn't do the viewings but I'll ask the person who did to call you (they rarely did). There were times where they had feedback recorded on their system but nobody had bothered to tell me. Each time I explained that it's useful for me to have feedback because there maybe things I can do to get sold. I had this same conversation with at least 5 people but got the impression they didn't want to know. I would increasing receive calls from "L" in their central team to book viewings and I would also ask her for feedback but this would be referred back to the Farnborough office. I called my contact "T "and for a very brief period I received some feedback on viewings before this stopped again. It got to the point where I told them there's no point doing viewings if I never hear anything back. Things still didn't improve and it seemed I was getting very little from Bridges. I asked for feedback on a specific viewing and when our contract was due to end. I was told they didn't have this information so they'd ask T to call me. Of course he didn't, he was working that day but asked someone else to call me. I was told there is a system note that "TQ" had already called me with feedback which I had stated was incorrect. After the call I checked my phone records, text messages, voicemails and emails which confirmed the fact that they had not contacted me. So either they have lied about calling me or they've dialled an incorrect number and spoken to someone else about my property. I was told our contract had ended and he followed up by emailing me asking me to reply providing notice to end our contract! On the call he said they may have contacted my partner - this is also incorrect (and impossible) as I'm the sole seller, they do not have my partners contact details and my partner has had no involvement in the sale of my property. I replied providing notice to end our contract. I copied in T and the other person I had been dealing with, stating my concerns, as detailed above. Another agent who had sold a nearby property contacted me and was surprised my property hadn't sold. I mentioned I had found Bridges to be useless and he said he hears this a lot and he's actually taken on another property from them as the vendor has experienced similar issues to me. It was refreshing to deal with an agent who can be bothered to show interest in my property. I hadn't received a response to my email to Bridges so I followed up asking them to take my property off the market and how I get the key returned. I'd had enough. A few days went by I still hadn't heard anything so I followed up. I had previously used Bridges in 2017 to sell my previous property. I struggled to get a reply from my contact and after my property went under offer I tried to view properties they had advertised but they never came back to me so I never got to view them! I thought things would be better this time with the new contact but I was very wrong - things are far worse. Eventually the head of sales called and said he'd looked into my concerns. I stated I would never use Bridges again and remained unhappy but he had nothing to say so the call ended. I received a reply stating they had closed my complaint. To be clear it’s not resolved and this guy hasn’t listened to me as in the reply letter summarising our call he missed off various key points that we discussed. AVOID!

Myself and my partner were due to come to Farnborough, then continue on to other towns to view rental properties.
On the phone with various people at Bridges, I was promised a confirmation email on 3 separate occasions, but they never sent one and instead opted for a verbal confirmation. They didn't call me on the morning to confirm either.
We got the 1.5 hour train to Farnborough and then walked 20 minutes because we wanted to see a flat at Empress Cottages. It was nice looking and would have been a quieter area, while not too far to walk to the train station.
When we arrived there, we saw no Bridges signs, no local residents we passed knew of the flats, and the agent Mark did not call us. We tried to call Bridges, but they did not answer for 10 minutes. When I did speak to someone, she worked in sales and kept putting me on hold to talk to the person I needed instead of just passing me over. That person then texted Mark my mobile number, because for some reason he didn't have it.
She said our viewing was at 10:15 and it was now 10:30 (as if we hadn't been there since 10:15 like I told her we had...). She said we should start making our way to these other flats where Mark had already gone, which we didn't book to view, gave us a postcode which didn't exist, then gave us another postcode (a cafe nearby), which was 2.2 miles away.
On the bus over (they knew we didn't have a car), we saw that it was a 35 minute walk from the train station, which was not to our specification. Mark then called and told us he had arrived there, with no explanation or apology for what had happened, so I told him we were just continuing on to our other viewings with other estate agents.
We then saw properties with NewLife Let in Farnborough, then Martin & Co in Aldershot, and Seymour's in Woking. They were all very well organised.

Our solicitors weren't the best with communication and any time I needed anything I would email Jayne and hear back the same day with an update after she had chased both parties for me. It has been so helpful having a middle person involved who has been a calming influence on the whole process! Thank you Bridges for your amazing help.

Using an estate agent one accepts that the fee will be a percentage which makes them high compared with the new Internet agents, but the service was first class and the fee competitive comparing like for like.
Richard provided a deep understanding of the market and a sensible valuation. The details were quickly put out to market and 'The Hub' looked after all viewings, keeping us up to date with viewings and feedback. A minor criticism would be that we were contacted by so many different people from the Hub that it was occasionally confusing. A number of viewings were arranged and an offer was accepted within 2 months. The sale took a further 3 months and Jayne kept us informed on progress and proactively chased the hold ups.

We initially decided to sell our house in April with an online estate agent due to the lower commission fees. We chose Purple Bricks and instructed them to put our property on the market. This worked well as after organising an open house in May, we had an offer which we accepted and the sale progressed. After a month, it transpired that the buyers would not be able to secure their mortgage and the sale fell through. Our property was re-marketed towards the end of June, but despite some interest and a new offer, none of the potential buyers were in a position to proceed, having properties of their own that had yet to be put on sale.
By the beginning of September, after two months of inactivity, we decided to bring a traditional estate agent on board to get things moving. We had discovered that not only does Purple Bricks not have a database of clients but they also don't make any phone calls to generate any interest, insisting that the online advert sells itself. Having considered several local estate agents, we decided on Bridges after meeting Kevin Winchester for his passion, commitment to sell and statistics that show them as clear leaders for sales in the area. This proved a fruitful decision as we had a potential buyer immediately through Kevin connecting us to the interested party. After a viewing of the house, we negotiated an agreed offer and finally had a buyer we had confidence in.
The post-sales has been handled in an exemplary manner by Jayne Gaskin who has kept us informed and up-to-date and answered any manner of question that we raised. Jayne and Kevin were able to navigate a few challenges with the surveys and get us to that all important position where we have exchanged and are due to complete in a matter of days.
We can honestly say that if we had stayed with Purple Bricks, we doubt we would have sold this side of Christmas let alone completed. Despite the savings due to Purple Bricks lower commission promise, we realised that the additional amount that is spent on a traditional estate agent is well worth it because they are proactive in selling your house and have the dedicated staff to get you to the end of what is a very stressful event.
We are extremely thankful to Bridges for selling our house and their professional and knowledgeable sales and post-sales team for helping us move on to the next stage (and house) in our lives.

Even though we decided to show people around ourselves many of the people viewing the property commented on how great and professional their photographs were, and ultimately in my opinion this is one of the most important aspects of the sale! They helped us sell it in record time (around 2 weeks), and also helped us get it through to exchange within 8 weeks! James was brilliant at recommending a solicitor and although I was initially sceptical about this, the company turned out to be amazing! It was also a bonus that they were reasonably priced. So, thank you Bridges!

A bit of a roller-coaster with Bridges & particularly Kevin. To start with we (me & my partner as the buyers & the person who became our vendor) were flat out lied to. I made an offer, another couple also made an offer, I therefore upped our offer. The person who was selling was told that I was unwilling & unable to increase from my original offer! Thankfully the house was on our route home, so I stopped to discuss with the vendor, which is how we discovered this. Both of us were directly dealing with Kevin, yet he claims that there was a 'miss-communication'.
We did still proceed with Bridges in trying to sell out property as we know that they are well known in the area & to be fair they did find a buyer straight away for us.
Due to delays in the chain, by the solicitors & with Bridges also, the sell fell through. But after two (nearly three) weeks later we found that they still had the property marked as SSTC on RightMove.co.uk (the UK's largest property website).
The delay in response (if indeed they do bother to respond) is appalling.
Not to mention the fluctuation in the commission they charge!
Would never consider using them again & would warn others to avoid also!

Very highly recommended. Professionally presented, with lots of market information and good marketing of the property. We achieved an asking price offer with no chain the day after the property went live, so couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended! I've used Bridges Estate Agents in Farnborough to sell two of my buy to let properties recently. They go above and beyond expectations.
