By far my worst experience of renting a property. Rettie & Co are a complete joke. It is difficult knowing where to begin... On moving into the property initial problems found included a broken washing machine, faulty boiler and all our storage space still filled with junk left by the previous tenants. When we reported that the washing machine was broken we were told 'it's probably more likely that you are not accustomed with how it works yet.' Needless to say, they refused to send out anyone to look at the machine. Next, our boiler finally broke meaning that there was no hot water in the flat. It took Rettie & Co 2 weeks to send someone out to fix it! The office staff couldn't give a damn, you tell them something and you're lucky if they listen to a word of it. This issue was resolved after 4 phone calls and several angry emails! Our latest problem involves the washing machine once more! We have been unable to use it for coming up 5 weeks now and yet again Rettie & Co could not care less. When asked if we would be reimbursed for the inconvenience and extra costs of using laundry services, Rettie & Co dodged the question and other times chose not to respond to our emails or return our calls. The staff seem to have an issue with consistency and communication. One member will tell you one thing and another something completely different. For example, we were told that it would be appropriate to end our lease by giving confirmation through email (which I thought as strange). Then when I followed this instruction and emailed our end of lease, I was informed by another member of staff that this was not acceptable and must be put in writing! All I can say is, I am glad to be moving out of the property under Rettie & Co's care and hope the landlord sees sense and opts to move agency! For anyone interested in a property with this company... Look elsewhere and avoid the unnecessary stress. It is a shame they are so awful as the properties they seem to take care of are of a high standard. Hope my experience does not stand alone but also helps any one considering any dealings with this company.
What agent could do to change your mind?
I would not even consider any future dealings with this company. There is absolutely no way of swaying my opinion on them.

Rettie lettings avoid it like the plague, i wish i could give them -1 stars as the service was so poor. We thought they were the best and we were happy to pay stress free service, instead we had the property vacant months and lost quite a lot of money felt snubbed by so called “portfolio agents”... She could have been honest and not tried to get a sale at any price She should look at her attitude towards her clients and worked for us not against Us, we were vulnerable, and ended up accepting a very poor deal, but you beta yhen agents got their money.
