I don't know what the property code of conduct in Scotland is but rettie accepted our bid for a property on the closing date and it was months later I discovered that they had also accepted a bid from another party. So there were two winning bids instead of one!? Whoever sold their property... Read Full Review

I don't know what the property code of conduct in Scotland is but rettie accepted our bid for a property on the closing date and it was months later I discovered that they had also accepted a bid from another party. So there were two winning bids instead of one!? Whoever sold their property first was the winner! This makes a mockery of having a closing date with a winning bidder in the first place and if everyone did it the property market in Scotland would be a mess.

Bought a house recently via Retties. However, was then gazumped by a cash bidder later in needless circumstances. Morally repugnant behaviour and the only Edinburgh firm that seem to indulge in this behaviour as we recently contacted another company in Edinburgh, ***, about buying a house and even though we are now cash bidders they informed us that the house had just been sold subject to sale but they would take our details if that changed. They could have easily taken our money as more favourable for their client but obviously their reputation and morals mean more than money, unlike Retties.

Unscrupulous sharks. Bought a property with Rettie as the selling agent for the sellers. Constantly harangued my solicitor regarding sale of our property even though it has only been on the market a week or so. Never put the bought property under offer as we organized our mortgage and sale which was almost finalized, instead kept promoting it, then sent my solicitor an email on a Friday night (when obviously then couldn't respond) saying the sellers had now decided to refuse my offer and accept a gazumped bid instead. Unscrupulous sharks unfortunately not bound by Scottish law code as they are estate agents not solicitors.

I recently used Rettie and Co to sell my flat in Stockbridge. It was a very easy experience and the staff were very knowledgable and helpful. My main dealings were with Gavin Smith and Caroline Mackinnon and they were great to deal with. They kept me informed of all relevant information throughout and made the whole process very straightforward (which isn't alwsys the case when dealings with property agents). I would be happy to use their services against and would certify recommend them to anyone looking for a property agent in Edinburgh.

Over the years I've moved 10 times .... This is the first time I've used RETTIE both for sale and purchase . The level of service , facilitation and follow through was first class .
