We first began renting from Hamptons estate agents- when the deal was closed we were told Curchods will be dealing with us from now (property management ) We had many problems with our property in our first 6 months. Including: Boiler leaking & not working - Went on for over a month before they finally agreed to change it ! Hole under the bath so exess drainage was going under the bathroom floor, Ill fitting sash window which left our bedroom freezing cold through a very cold snowy winter- which eventually they agreed to change. A Broken fridge freezer Which took a few days to get sorted -Baring in mind we had no food! A internal door which was not fitted properly falling off- Us having no where to keep it had to put it up against the wall in the hallway outside - Curchods were notified & asked to repair it or take door away to which they ignored & later told us that keeping the door in the hall way is a fire hazard! But yet have failed to repair the 2 inch gap in the bottom of our main door (Which in itself is a fire hazard!) not to mention the draft it lets in in the winter. Right now the external ariel point for the Television has stopped working & we have been attempting to get Curchods to repair it for a Full Week - to which they have finally arranged a repairs man to attend who has said he cannot unless our upstair neighbours are in because that is where the ariel point will be. so here we are over a week later still trying to phone Victoria at Curchods to sort out an issue. Everytime we call we are told 'she will call you back' and she never does. This has happened EVERY time we have tried to report an issue - We have been left waiting far too long for simple things to be sorted- why do we have to make angry phone calls for things to get sorted! We are a young couple renting for the first time & quite frankly i feel that we are being taken advantage of. We always pay rent on time etc but are being left without vital things eg: boiler, fridge freezer & seem to have constant issues That are being ignored!! this all withing 6 months of being at the property?!! we will not be renting from curchods again. no doubt they will take our deposit aswel like they appear to have done with others. Avoid if you can help it (We didnt have the choice!!)

Review as a tenant and based on ending a tenancy. The start of my tenancy was with a different letting agents which was then switched to Curchods mid-tenancy. Stay well clear. Put in an offer for a property which was accepted. Applied for a mortgage and when I contacted them to find out about the exchange of contracts Curchods continued to market the property and was informed I would have to raise my asking price by GBP20k. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
