Its only once you have signed are hilbury happpy to tell you that the landlords are a nightmare, and the chances of getting your deposit back is zero. They immediately try to scare you by happily sharing the horror stories of past tennants challenges and dont bother disputing anything as you will lose. Its an immediate answer, brush you off and to take no responsibilty themselves. They even have said "its business" but dont seem to care that the tenant may feel business does not mean there should be no morales. It could be seen as very very sly, underhand and i hate to say, but extremely "old school" agency tactics. If what they immediately say is true, its not good business to represent such bad landlords just for the sake of a buck. Been left feeling utterly sitched up (as well as out of pocket)

I am aware of the property this relates to and whilst i understand your frustration the issues with regard to deposit disputes are handled by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme if you feel a Landlord is being unfair. I am aware you chose to not dispute the landlords claim which is entirely your decision. As an agent we are to take instructions from our client (the landlord) but we follow the rules to the point. We cannot be held responsible for a landlords actions but if you have a complaint about our conduct as a company then please feel free to contact me. Lack of communication , apology and took until Tuesday to give a reason why a landlord did not turn up Saturday at 4.30 pm to do a viewing of an apartment ! Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
