Not to be trust .... got my property for 4 months and booked 9 viewings but only 6 turn up of which 4 we need to do it ourselves and they started giving us feedback for people who didnt turn up and when started questioning they said they got feedback wrong on different properties....also be careful ... Not to be trust .... got my property for 4 months and booked 9 viewings but only 6 turn up of which 4 we need to do it ourselves and they started giving us feedback for people who didnt turn up and when started questioning they said they got feedback wrong on different properties....also be careful on signing contract as they try to hold of ur property for long and then once contract signed then I didnt even get any calls for 2 weeks and then I have to follow up and then they got some excuses .... at last I have to wait for 4 months and then kick them out as they turned our to be useless

I have been very disappointed with the service I have received so far as a buyer for a property being advertised through Hilbery Chaplin. We arranged a viewing for a property, and they did not even show up -we waited 30 minutes and no phone call or notification to say that they weren't able to attend. Luckily, the office was very close to where I live so I went in and complained to be met with a meagre 'sorry about that'. It took them over 5 working days to actually submit an offer to the vendor (I doubt that the vendor was even notified that an offer was submitted until 5 days later). -If I was selling with them, I would be annoyed at how long they take to respond to buyers. They have to 'qualify' you through their mortgage buyers before they are able to submit the offer to the vendor (this is just a stupid sales call to get you to go with their brokers). They acted unprofessional on the phone and stated that the vendor was unlike to want to enter into a chain which involved purple bricks which is completely unprofessional and prejudice. I've had a much better service from purple bricks so far and its a whole lot cheaper. As a buyer, I would not recommend that customers sell their property through Hilbery due to their poor communication with potential purchasers.

We used Hilbery Chaplin to sell our flat in Brentwood and after a terrible experience with another agent in the area, we were unbelievably impressed with the professionalism shown all round. Dan and James were fantastic throughout the sale process and got us more viewings than expected and achieved a sale price that matched our expectations. Upon instructing solicitor's we were contacted by Corinne who said she would be supporting our sale through and she was fantastic. Corinne really helped set our minds at ease knowing that someone was fighting our corner for us and keeping us up to date which isn't a trait our solicitor had... Thank you to the full team at HC, wouldn't hesitate to use again.

Hilbery Chaplin have been fantastic in helping me sell my home. The sales team were very good and always kept me informed of any updates.
Jack and Conor in particular are outstanding members of the team.
Conor took the time to come and see the property himself before showing it to any potential buyers which was excellent.
Jack has always been very polite and proactive on the phone and during negotations.
Paul is also very pleasant and friendly too.
I felt very confident that Hilbery Chaplin would do the best job.

We used hilbery chaplin to recently sell our property in pitsea. Right from our first meeting with Paul we found them honest and professional. I mainly spoke to Jack with regards to the sale and the viewings. He was polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He kept me informed with all viewings and all feedback resulting from them. I often spoke to Jack about properties we were looking at and he helped me understand the jargon from a buying view point. Once the sale was done we were passed to corinne to progress the sale and we were so lucky to have her. She was brilliant from start to finish. Always avaliable, very friendly and efficient and really knew her stuff! We cannot thank her enough for all her support and hard work, she really went above and beyond and without her I don't think we'd have completed! Would definitely recommend.

My personal experience with Hilbery Chaplin is quite negative. When viewing properties their staff have often been late and unknowledgeable. My personal experience with Hilbery Chaplin is quite negative. When viewing properties their staff have often been late and unknowledgeable. They were managing one of the properties I was renting and considering they charged a reasonably high commission at the start of the tenancy, they were next to useless as once the occupancy started. When the tenancy came to an end they did not want to get involved in the final inspection as an independent party and it took them nearly 3 months to return our deposit. In addition, since then I believe they have misused my personal data regarding my forwarding address. In future I will try to avoid them as much as possible and I would recommend anyone to do the same.
