I am still distraught after my experience with Chancellors. On 11/10/2017 I viewed a property in Slough. The same day I made an offer which was accepted. On the 13/10/17 my guarantor and I were supposed to receive the Experian tenancy background checking application form. I did receive it, however my guarantor was not informed to expect such correspondence, neither did she receive it, as it turned out later her email address was entered incorrectly by Chancellors. On Monday the Bracknell office enquired about the missing reference, yet it was not until Tuesday that my guarantor finally received the email. However by then the login seemed to have expired. On Wednesday she took time out of work to speak to someone from the Bracknell office to guide her through the form. On Thursday I was informed the guarantor reference was good to go and on Friday that the tenancy agreement was being drawn up. My previous tenancy agreement had already expired on 15/10/17. Due to the delay as a result of the incorrect email address I had to move my entire household and belongings into three storage units and two vans which I am still renting. I kept the items in the van in good faith knowing I would be moving shortly. Instead of travelling to family further away where I could stay at no extra cost, I decided to remain near the storage and the new flat to ensure flexibility. I have been staying at hotels for the past week, always renewing on a daily basis as I expected to move to go ahead on time. I also paid Royal Mail for a one year mail redirection to the new address, something that cannot be amended. Some of my confidential mail is already at the property. A further major problem is my inability to work and earn as I need my home office and access to my stock and equipment. I have not been able to work for nearly two weeks as a result. Furthermore I informed all other agents that had suitable properties that I found something and am off the market, as well as already having purchased matching furniture for flat. On Saturday (21/10/17) morning I then received a disconcerting phone call from my contact person at Chancellors informing me that the landlord had been advertising the same property with other agencies simultaneously; someone made a last minute higher offer and the landlord decided to move them in knowing full well I'd be left homeless and stranded with massive financial costs. Keeping the vans and storage in place anticipating the move, paying for temporary accommodation and the discomfort of having my belongings scattered throughout London and living out of a suitcase, counting the days until one can finally move in has taken its toll. Now I have nowhere to go. I cannot remember the last time I was mistreated in such a manner, they wasted my time, over £3000 of mine, incapacitated my work, damaged my psyche and I am just supposed to take it lying down. To top it all off Chancellors sold my contact information to a number of companies to sell me a myriad of services for the new flat. Until this day they call me incessantly to sell me insurance, broadband and so on. That is all that I have left from this experience, spam calls.

As a recent buyer of a property in Windlesham, I found dealing with the Sunningdale branch of Chancellors incredibly user friendly. We were first shown around by James Fothergill, who, even after the offer was made and accepted was quite happy to meet us at the property and let us measure up for... Read Full Review

Chancellors Sunningdale are fixing their sign boards on peoples properties without permission or verification and then leave them there. When it is reported they ignore the complaint and do not return calls. They fixed a sign board to my fence with bolts and when told were not bothered about the... Read Full Review

Before I signed the contract with Chancellors to sell our house, David, who came to value our house, was extremely personable and friendly and even told me how honest he is. That should have sent alarms bells ringing. As soon as I had signed the contract, it became very difficult to contact him... Read Full Review
The fees agreed were actually reasonable at 1%. The only positive thing about this estate agent.

We were very disappointed by the service we received from this agent. We paid a full deposit and one month's rent to secure a property. This was held for 11 days by the agent. We were then advised that the landlord had withdrawn the property. We then found out the property was owned by an... Read Full Review
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
