As a tenant, my experience with Brockenhurst has been absolutely appalling. Here's a summary of what went on, to serve as a warning to those willing to rent through this agency.
- To begin with, the process to move into the property was unnecessarily delayed, forcing me to find temporal accommodation in an AirBnb. On my side, everyone was diligent and efficient, but I had to keep insisting over a full month of constant delays and broken promises to get the property. It was advertised as available immediately on the 6th of January, it was given to me on the 9 of February Communication was almost non existent, and I had to chase them to do their job.
- On arrival, they did not give me an inventory. It took a week and a half, and of course me insisting on getting it, to finally get the inventory. Furthermore, the property was clearly not adequately cleaned and presented: chippings on the wall, debris and food left in the kitchen (even their own inventory addressed this), broken blinds, a terribly dirty oven that I had to clean for 2 hours, and many other details I can barely remember. I spent the 7 months I lived here chasing them to fix these issues, and only the blinds got replaced; the rest of my requests were simply ignored.
- However, the real concerning bit was the fact that the Electrical Installation Certificate was faulty, and according to the legislation it had to be fixed within 28 days, otherwise the property would not be adequate to live in. I spent ONE HUNDRED DAYS chasing them, I had to go to the Property Redress Scheme to force them to act on it, and even got a compensation due to the obvious lack of professionalism and their poor management of the property. Imagine living in a house that is not considered safe and your agency is refusing to act on it, repeatedly. I literally emailed and phoned every week and it took, I will insist, more than three months for them to finally act on it. Simply appalling.
- Shortly after winning the case through the PRS, I was informed quite conveniently that the landlord wanted to sell the property. I asked them how long would it take to finalize the sale, as I was about to go to Spain for the holidays, and they gave me plenty of guarantees that the process would not force me to leave until

Finding a property after 33years has proven to be very difficult and at times stressful. We registered with all Estate agents in Andover.
Adam at Brockenhurst along with his colleagues have been exceptionally helpful and professional, guiding us through the housing minefield.
We have now found our new home and although it was not with Brockenhurst the outstanding service we received deserves a mention and we recommend Brockenhurst Estate agents.

They promised my viewing for today. 3 calls, 3 confirmations, with no email verify after continuous requests. Check listing today let agreed after being told 3 times. 3 times. Be prepared for zero contact by your sales adviser, continually chase them for progress/updates, conduct viewings on their behalf at short notice and then when they don't manage to sell your property, be bullied by the manager David Griffiths and threatened with court action if you do not... After suffering a bad experience with another estate agent Brockenhurst were amazing from start to finish. Matt proactively contacted us as he was aware that our property was not selling. Knowing that we were still tied into a contract he spent the time to come round and reassure us that we were correctly priced. There was no pressure to move to them at all but he gave us confidence that Brockenhurst could sell our property. Within 3 days of switching to Brockenhurst we had 4 viewings and 3 offers which we accepted. During the selling and buying process Brockenhurst had a co-ordinator (Jo) who was also amazing throughout the whole process keeping everyone in the loop up and down the chain. Even with a complex chain (with a few dramas thrown in) we have still managed to complete in a 3 month window. I would personally like to thank Matt for all his efforts and Brockenhurst should be very proud of their ANDOVER team.

We recently sold our house through your Andover office. I have dealt with Brockenhurst on 3 separate occasions and know David Griffiths the owner pretty well.
David is knowledgeable and informative about the local market and trustworthy.
David provided me with the valuation whilst Clare and Holly in the Andover branch provided the day to day support.
Appointments and viewings were carried out on time and professionally.
The sale of my property processed very quickly.
The agency fees were also very competitive.
All in all a satisfied customer

My partner and I thankfully dodged a bullet with Brockenhurst. Went for several viewings with various members of staff and was lied to by every one of them concerning the quality of properties, cost of fees, etc. Extortionate fees - we rent a property that was initially advertised by both Castles and Brockenhurst and the feese are half as much with Castles.
Furthermore, despite the fact that Castles now manage the property, my partner has received several calls from Brockenhurst demanding that we allow prospective tenants to view the property. This despite the fact that they have no permission to access the flat and that we have signed an agreement to be in the flat for 6 months!
Overall I have found themnto be liars, daylight robbers and just completely unprofessional in every sense. Avoid at all costs!
