We're very surprised Chancellors haven't joined your scheme - they like transparency "we pride ourselves on the transparency of the negotiations we enter into", but in fact they don't tell you all the important bits and are actually cheats and liars. Our first meeting at our property lasted well over an hour and we were totally charmed, won over and then tricked into signing a contract for 2% fees (which was never mentioned), a copy of which they didn't produce until we started their complaints procedure! We pulled out of the sale when we discovered their fees, but continued when told, on 2 separate occasions, they would charge 1%. Unfortunately, not dreaming they would lie and believing their word, we did't get it in writing. We were strung along 'til exchange, when they sent invoice for 2%. Complained, but told verbal negotiations are "subject to contract, meaning they are superseded by contract", translation: once they've got your signature they can say whatever they like to keep you happy, knowing they won't have to keep their word because they have the security of the signed contract. We wrote directly to the MD, but he has never replied to our letter, not even to acknowledge receipt. They've had £13,000 of our hard earned money for doing nothing (apart from deceive us), we sold to the first viewers for asking price! We did any chasing of solicitors, etc, ourselves, but they "worked really hard to make us mortgage free"! We are utterly shocked, appalled, disgusted and frustrated at our treatment (and broke) and can't do anything about it because we put our complete faith and trust in them and signed without reading the contract fully. Nothing else that happened (ie the deception, lies, mis-selling) seems to count. BEWARE of Chancellors tricksters/con-artists. PLEASE don't use them, they really don't deserve to be in business. We would really love to take this further, but can't afford to, so will rely on people not using them, thereby forcing them to SHUT DOWN.

They gave me the wrong information, I should pay for an satisfying service although I was unsatisfied with situations from the beginning. I will pay the check out fees as I am aware that agency is charging these and I will not hesitate to pay them straight away after the situation has been resolved.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
