We decide to go with Rettie as our letting agent. However, what we discovered was that Rettie have a very different intention when they take over a flat. The aim is to manage your flat as a vehicle to make a swift earning. In other words they go around and create work which increases their bill to you as a landlord. Although you pay a fee to them for managing they also want to organize work and increase the cash flow. It is clever because they would never go above the monthly rent. When you receive your invoice monthly the payment to you has dramatically reduced. They are keeping all their 'property managers' and workers in jobs by doing this. After making several challenges for unauthorized work getting carried out Rettie cancelled our agreement and told us to go to another agent. Avoid at all costs - no landlord could afford to have them manage your property. Desperate times - desperate measures...

After calling Rettie on no less than 7 occasions I am yet to view a property. This is despite me offering to view places on any day of the week at anytime. Provided a decent level of customer service. When a property I am due to view is taken offer alternatives that they still have.
