TL/DR; So far if I could give zero stars I would give them but I will give 1 instead because some of the people working there are honestly nice. However,.... My self and my partner we started renting a house run by Bridgfords Letting Agents since last Monday 14/02/22. First, the images shown in the advert with what we actually got are two different stories, we also did our viewing online (due to working schedules restrictions) and apparently it was a MASSIVE MISTAKE because we obviously got scammed. When we moved in the house was in a state of filthy mess, the previous tenants didn't clean, the house has pilled up years of filth, dust, dirt. The otherwise advertised as ''new'' carpets had stamps and spots all over and I am waiting to see if there are also carpet beetles after finding one yesterday. We had a week to report things against the agency's inventory, which we did. Of course we reported the mess and filthiness and we were PROMISED some actions to be taken until yesterday, and in our last phone call with them they said that they are still working on our cases but it is stack between the previous tenants, landlord and a third party (which I am guessing is the deposit scheme). What we are asking is for someone to deep clean the house and get rid of the years of filth and what we get in response is that the landlord is awaiting to take the deposit back from the previous tenants to fix it? What kind of logic is this? Why are we put in the same basket with the old tenants? Time to mention that the house is also a junkyard, old forgotten devices mounted on walls, archaic light shades and a set of curtains that are reeking and are the dirtiest piece of cloth I have seen in my life. There are wires exposed, the part furnished devices I don't know when they have passed last their safety test. So the situation I am describing is this and we are asked in good willing and hope to wait for a response and not start cleaning imediately? Of course we started cleaning, because this is bordeline health and safety case, we bring with us our new furniture and we don't want to land in a house that is dirty. So I am asking, what would the agency have achieved with us waiting? Because obviously our requested has been thrown in the bin. Who tells me that we are not doing the job the agency should have done, and now they use our photographyic evidence to strip the deposit from the previous tenants? Because their photographic inventory report was lacking big time. So either they were covering the real problems so they arise later and blame them on us or the person who did the inventory is stupid. In any case, whatever they do favours the landlord, everything they do is to keep THEM safe, because their fee comes from THEM, not from two humble invidividuals who rent a property from the agency. But the hard truth, dear agency, is that YOU are the mediator and customer satisfaction comes from two different parties. You have failed to play this game when you chose one over the other. And no matter how hard I tried to keep myself from writing a review, it's been a week that I am stressing for something I shouldn't, and because I want this review to be out there for you to see that some things are serious. I am sure some people who are dealing with our case tried their best but if they were me you would have done the same and making this public. Can I ask in which redress scheme this agency belongs to so I can make an official complain to them as well?

Lovely when they're showing somewhere but then it turned into a nightmare. Nothing got fixed as promised. We didn't have a fence for our whole tenancy despite being told it would be fixed on moving it. Found mice holes that had just been tapped up. But the worst was at the end. We got a ... They don't communicate, you have to chase them. They lie rather than admit they don't know something. It took us over a month from letting the property to being able to use the master bedroom for a problem we were told at viewing was already scheduled to be... Read Full Review

We went with Bridgfords because we were assued that they had buyers on their books who wanted this particular kind of property. Within a day, they contacted us to advise that we had an offer from a cash buyer. This prompted us to put in an offer on a house we wanted. The agent handling the... Read Full Review
They should have been upfront with us from the start and mentioned the chain. They were too eager to conclude a sale instead of getting the facts right. After all, they were employed by us not the buyer or anyone else. They should not employ people in a customer facing position who are unfamiliar with the conveyancing process who only made matters worse.
