Private Tenants I implore you not to use Strutt and Parker Estate Agents in Banbury. We have been renting for over 10 years and not experienced anything like them. I wish we had read the reviews. We found a beautiful property to rent, and although Strutt and Parker were by far the most expensive agent in Banbury (With Sign Up Fees, and Referencing Fees etc. etc.), we felt the property was worth it. We had issues almost as soon as we moved in. The property was not well maintained and on numerous occasions the landlord entered the property without our permission. When we reported these issues to Strutt and Parker it was clear they did not want to upset the Landlord as they have a portfolio of rental properties that Strut and Parker 'Manage' for them, and I imagine they make quite a lot of money with the Landlord. When we came to leave the property, Strutt and Parker actively encouraged the Landlord to hold back as much of the deposit as possible. When we complained and raised a complaint with the TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) Strut and Parker even went as far as filling out the Landlords Claim. Luckily we had some of our deposit returned as the TDS also felt the Landlord and Strutt and Parker were being unreasonable. I could not stress further anyone looking at renting with these people DO NOT!! It will cost you financially in the short term and financially in the long run! All I can say is if you are currently renting with them, report everything and put it in writing, as they are not interested in looking out for the tenants, and will just try and hold back your deposit!! Now that the TDS dispute has ended we are taking the landlord to court for beach of tenancy, its been a nightmare but we are not prepared to leave it as it is!!
