I would give Leaders 0 stars if I could. I lived at 29 Russell Terrace in Leamington Spa. As a university student, Leaders have exploited us. They charged us over £30K worth of rent for the year. The house was absolutely filthy when we began to rent it, not clean at all and still had other people's photographs and shoes in the rooms despite i having been 'professionally cleaned'. The house was so damp it gave all the tenants the flu and they did nothing to solve it except blame us for it. The bathroom floor was also close to caving in to the living room beneath because of wood worm, we were told not to use the bathroom and the landlord even said try not to use it so we were living with 1 bathroom between 8 of us which breaches the HMO license of the house. When we wanted to claim compensation for our mistreatment the landlord denied having said anything and blamed us for the damp even though it was unlived in for 2 years before us so was damp as it hadn't been aired out. We also had no contact with the landlord for 6 months after moving in. Once we got a lawyer involved for multiple breach in contract, the landlord got involved and gave us a dehumidifier as a gesture of 'good will'. We complained about the broken oven multiple times and nothing was done, the company is extremely slow and difficult to communicate. Now after moving out, Leaders are trying to take our deposit for leaving the house 'dirty' when we cleaned it thoroughly and the dirt and damage that is present was there before we even moved in and now they are trying to scam us. The house is now in a better condition once we have moved out than it was when we moved in. We received no money back and I am fully considering taking the landlord and/or leaders to court for the way they have treated us. Just because we are students doesn't mean we should have been taken advantage of us. I am appalled and hope to warn anyone else away if they are considering employing leaders; they are a disgrace.
