I rented a flat for almost three years and a half with Martin & Co Bath. It's my only experience renting in the UK, I'm a student. Regarding my first two years, it did take a while (sometimes more than 6 months!) to get some things repaired. BUT I think at some point the team changed, around summer 2016, and my experience with M&Co Bath during my last year of tenancy has been really good. They were quick to deal with any problems, friendly, giving useful advice. There were no problems with my deposit.
I don't know how it usually works, but I paid �255 agency fees.

I would not recommend using this agency. They had a poor communication with me and had clearly took side for the landlord at the end of the tenancy. Same story as usual - a student letting, so they saw us coming and decided to rip us off. Check-in was a cursory quick thing not noting the many damages, uncleaned state of property etc. Submitted our own check-in - M&Co accepted this but then didn't provide it at check-out. Paid them for nothing. On top of agency fees are them taking majority of deposit unfairly.
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
