Absolutely disgraceful service. They are liars one of the women agents (if you can even call her that) showed me around a home in Merthyr I paid the �300 agency fee and showed proof of savings in my account which was more than enough to rent that house for the next 5 years. I then get contacted directly by the home owners to say they were happy to let me their home privately as the estate agents were providing them an awful service ( so I handed my 4 weeks notice in on my previous home) I then get a call 2 weeks later by the home owner saying the agent at bidmead and cook had said all these awful things about me and that I have no money and on that basis they weren't prepered to let me the home. I showed the home owners proof of my savings and they were baffled by bidmead cooks lies as was I. So because of this I had to find a home pronto no thanks to bidmead. Turns out bidmead con you out of 100's of pounds and won't return your calls once they have your money. They offer a VERY UNPROFESSIONAL service which I will be taking to a small claims court for defamation of character as well as to get my �300 back. Do NOT trust this disgusting agency with your home or give them any money.

It isn't standard practice at the Merthyr office to take bank statements from applicants or give perspective tenant contact details to landlords, so don't understand how this situation could have occurred. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
