Do not use Bridgefords ! I have used Bridgefords since I bought this property and had no issues until a couple of years ago when a team member called Gemma left. Since then the service has completely disintegrated into a farce. To name but a few problems. Despite a full service my property and tenants have not been protected. The police were called because the neighbours thought my tenants was dead, flies were coming out from the property.....flies!. This matter was not even brought to my attention. The first I knew of this was a bill from the door repair people on behalf of the Police. Tenants are not being vetted in any way. A series of poor tenants were allowed in the property and the rent was rarely paid on time, even with alleged guarantors. Communication was non existent between head office and branch. One would be sending arrears letters while the other was unaware of the arrears. On occasion the rent from the council has simply not been allocated by Bridgefords and the tenants were sent eviction notices. If I didn't chase both up then nothing would be done. E mails were systematically ignored by both and my calls were ignored. The last straw came with the suspected dead tenant and I was left with an uninhabitable flat with no door, arrears and not so much as an apology from Bridgefords. They claim that tenant vetting was up to scratch, they claim that checking on the welfare of tenants is not part of their 'full service' (what is then??). The complaint is ongoing but I have switched agency obviously but so far my losses are �3500 on a one bed flat. Repairs, redecorate, new carpets, new door, new fitting and fixtures and loss of rent.

The worst agents I have ever come into contact with in my years of renting properties. Unhelpful, RUDE and impossible to get answers from for simple questions if you have issues. Landlords review: Firstly, if you are having problems with the maintenance of a property, it is not Bridgfords fault. This branch is extremely incompetent and I have never experienced such negligence and disregard towards the customer, with extremely poor customer service. Having been incompetently double booked the estate agents should have made more effort to find us new accommodation, they should post our money out when requested instead of lying.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
