I contracted Countrywide to sell our flat in East Kilbride and am very disappointed by their service. Not only did they fail to secure a buyer despite at least 2 serious viewers, they also recommended their rental branch in Hamilton which provided very poor service as well. I encourage all potential owners to review the extremly small print in the contract to the extent that you are clear on Countrywide charges should they fail to sell your home and you are forced to remove it from marketing. You will be charged over £250 to market it and a further £240 to remove it! When you complain they take over 5 weeks to respond and then tell you that they are indeed able to charge a further marketing fee of £100 per quarter!!! Their rental office in Hamilton is a shambles, rental took 5 months instead of promised 4 weeks. Staff leaving to reveal miscommunications to potential tenants and recommending tenants that clearly have failed credit assesment. In summary, I would not recommend this agent for either sales or rental.
