It is no surprise to me that as I write this, the stats at the top of the page put Bridgfords 2 from the bottom of nearly 13 THOUSAND agencies. How they are still operating is mind boggling. The degree of incompetency is baffling. From the moment I moved in, I have had nothing but bother. Firstly, I discovered drugs in the shed. Bridgfords response??? "The shed is not our responsibility." It's a fully managed let. Who's responsibility is it then?! Maybe it was my 2 small children's responsibility to discover them?? Then I discovered a large (12inch blade) knife in the sofa. Again, Bridgfords response - "Health and Safety mean we don't check furniture, so that is not our responsibility." Thankfully *I* found it, not one of my 2 small children. Add to that the fact that I had to clean the whole house (It took 3 adults an entire day to clean), the fact that there was no back door key (and please note that 18 months down the line they STILL haven't given me a key!!!! Is that even legal?!), one of my children's bedrooms was disgusting, with massive amounts of paint peeling off the walls, furniture dumped in the garage (again, the response was it wasn't their responsibility to sort it) and the under-stairs cupboard full to bursting of rubbish and mail, and only 3 light bulbs in the entire house working (to which their response was "Don't worry, you wont have to make sure they are working when you leave!), it wasn't a great start. I have continued to have so many problems - waiting 8 months for the boiler to be fixed being one of a whole host of things. It got so bad that I started formal complaint procedures. What a joke. It is all in-house and when you take it to the next level, you are basically just directing mail to a different desk in the same office! I was fobbed off for so long and eventually received a ridiculous letter saying they hadn't done anything wrong. (They wouldn't answer what they had done with the previous tenants money they had taken from the deposit, because they didn't spend it fixing the things that were wrong. Surely that is just plain stealing?!) *Side note* If you have any money taken from your deposit, insist you see receipts and photographic evidence that they have actually used your deposit to fix what they are saying is wrong! Sadly they "won" - I just didn't have the time or the energy to continue fighting, so I dropped it. :-( I feel so very bad for my landlords - they have entrusted the care of their property to Bridgfords and they do NOTHING with the extortionate charges they get from unsuspecting landlords. I am now batting off threats from them. It is insane that they get away with this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Comments on Agent Fees

Agents fees?! I can\'t even write about them as I am likely to pick up my laptop and throw it at the wall. They are ridiculous, and single tenants are penalised.

Nobody takes ownership of issues, ignore emails and all this for the privilege of paying £475 fees to simply move into a property. Awful service and I will never use Bridgefords again as either a tenant, landlord or prospective... Read Full Review

This branch are useless and provide poor service where you would expect it. Basic information is not provided (utility suppliers/ door codes/ gate codes etc) and when you question it or ask for information staff are rude and useless. Lisa was particularly rude, called me unreasonable for not... Read Full Review

The agents should have basic information available. They should meet you at the property to hand over the key and go through the inventory together and address any issues.

Comments on Agent Fees

Fees are disgusting and not worth it considering you have to do all of the work. £60 Inventory Fee > You have to complete the inventory yourself which then isn;t checked. £55 Administration Fee> You have to complete everything yourself and chase for basic information. £250 Agreement Fee > Disgusting. Upfront payment came to a total of £1375 - extortionate and disgusting.

I cannot put into words how appaling the service we have had from Bridgfords Stockton Heath is. We went to Dubai to work, and left our house to be rented out, fully managed by Bridgfords. Whne the current tenant gave notice to leave we asked for the house back as we had a friend who wanted to... Read Full Review

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
