Absolute joke of an agents, do not provide a service for the tenant at all. Inventory was that bad it listed the front door as white upvc door in good condition when it had a blue front door that was damaged, bowed and cracked and did not fit the frame, house was dirty still had sellotape on the window from evicting the previous tenants and electrical switches marked on the inventory as not visually safe. The only part I have been dissatisfied with are the fees which I believe to be extortionate. I have never paid such high fees and even had them reduced slightly after complaining. They are by far the highest fees I have ever paid or heard of.

Terrible service. It's been nearly 3 months since moving out and they are STILL charging rent and still have not returned my deposit. I ended tennancy on 12th September they continued my tennancy even tho I did not renew it until the 12th October but STILL MOVED NEW TENNENTS IN on the 12th September. The main problems in dealing with Countrywide for over four years now: 1. They could manage properties properly while maintaining excellent prompt communication with landlords and tenants, solving problems effectively and quickly as they arise. Isn't that the 'mission statement" of a lettings agency?

I got lucky - when presented with the bill for the various fees I told them to cut it in half or the deal was off. They didn't cut it in half and they still charged me above the going rate but I saved a fair bit just the same.

When a tenant leaves your property, they switch your energy provider - getting a back-hander from the energy company as they now have your next tenants business. Customer service is more important than you realise. Be more efficient. Realise who your customer is. Realise where your money is coming from. Customer service. Stop lying. Customer service. Get the facts instead of reporting what you think. Customer service. Get a CRM and proper tenancy housing computer system. Customer service. This market is getting much bigger and you have gone from being the biggest and best to one of the worst. Oh, and did I mention that your customer service is appalling.

Starting up fees are above others but as up to now, you have always found me good tenants, quickly, am happy to pay this. Everything after this is overpriced and in numerous cases down right underhand and these grind very heavily on the back of my mind. If everything after check-in were perfect, higher costs are acceptable but as everything after check-in is appalling, they are not.

Aside from the extortionate fees, they are the same miserable estate agents we've all come to expect. However, their fee structure is the issue which makes them particularly repugnant. These are the quintessential sharp practice agents. Absolutely extortionate. Read the small print. They assume the tenants are their property. Absolutely Awful experience. I was charged ridiculous fees from the outset and to top it all off, have been conned out of £75 for a false claim on the inventory report. I wonder if anyone else out there has been scammed with the "Iron Burn Mark" claim? The pictures on the report made it clear it wasn't, yet Countrywide were adamant of a "iron shaped burn" mark.
