They sent out an incompetent handy man to fix a broken boiler he spent -hour reading manual to proclaim we have no gas. Idiot the gas job was on next to him. So he says we need a bacon engineer who can come 7 days later and we’re meant to go one week with no heating or hot water. Luckily our landlord insisted they got us a plumber who by now couldn’t fix it until Monday three days later because they never even told him the problem so he could have got spares. Please find a letting agent that cares about you we have two young children now freezing. Red stones don’t even have an out of hours emergency phone number, avoid at all costs.

I was absolutely disgusted in the way my property was managed by Redstones. My house was given to them to manage in pristine condition and is a new build house, different tenants had left it in an appalling state. I was extremely disappointed, to say the least. Maybe at the end of the tenancy agreement charges of damage to the property had been taken from the tenant's deposits, but no work carried out by Redstones to the property hence all the damage I faced. I've been informed this commonly happened with this company. My next door neighbour rented his property and was handed back to him in the same condition. Great tenants were chosen and there were regular checks to the house, unlike my house. I am still putting the house right to the way I left it. A very disappointed customer of Redstone's I will never even touch them with a barge pole !! and certainly will NEVER EVER recommend them.

REPORT THEM TO THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN AND TRADING STANDARDS.
My experience of Redstones echoes others. They shouldn't continue to get away with their appalling way of dealing with people's property...

I wish there was a '0' option for star Extremely unprofessional, extremely rude and no customer service. I viewed a property. Told me to fill application forms. Soon as they received all payments from me they didn't want to know me.
I made phone calls after phone calls, sent emails no reply. They promised to give house keys but no one turned up! Arranged house keys for the second time no one turned up. Finally I went to their office but they said the person who is responsible is on annual leave you will have to wait for her to return. I asked can't anyone else hand over the keys as I was promised these keys 4 weeks back and I have nowhere to stay now. They didn't care about my situation - I was ignored until I left their office. I felt really embarrassed that I was sitting their for a good hour but no one was willing to help.
Requested for a refund as they were unreasonable and unprofessional but they refused.
Save your time and money and go to someone else.
I wish I had read the other reviewers here before I went to these cowboys letting agent.

I viewed two rental properties on Friday. There were no instructions on how to get in to the gated development. When I eventually did I was ordered to move my car by the rather surly agent I was meeting. One property was tired and dated with signs of water damage in the bathroom, burnt and removed decking on the Juliet balcony and grotty looking carpets. The other property would have been ideal but was part-furnished. The furniture was minimal and slightly mismatched. It might have been acceptable but there was a shaky bed frame which I couldn't have slept on (I have sleep disorders) and the mattress was stained with urine. The unhelpful agent said the landlord might change it but I'd have to first pay fees and be accepted before any requests would be considered. I received an application form by email and asked again if the landlord would consider renting unfurnished to which I received a terse one line reply indicating it wasn't an option. In the meantime I discovered that internet connectivity to the apartment was poor which is probably why the disinterested agent pointed to a socket and mumbled something about BT and Sky when I inquired about internet and connectivity to the property (it being an apartment) having explained to him the importance of a good connection since I occasionally work from home.Needless to say, I declined to complete an application form.

I've used Redstone's for nearly 2 years now and have never had any major issues. Whenever anything happens in the house (boiler last year) they are quick to deal with. The girls on the phones are really approachable and always contact my landlord if I have issues. I was suprised at the amount of frustration on here compared to positive feedback, whether or not they are impatient or just venting frustration I don't know. My repairs have been normally done within two days. The contractor will wake you up before your work alarm if you're next on his list. I think I fell lucky with my landlord but I very rarely give grief unless its a daily necessity or health risk. Just like buying a used car, I suppose.
I will continue to use Redstone's for the foreseeable future as I've had no problems so far which I cannot blame the landlord or Redstones. Just wear and tear. Since I've lived here for a few years now I suppose I don't have the previous tenants problems so that's another bonus.

Redstones are a complete joke! Since moving into our property my partner and I have had water problems. We contacted red stones and spoke to Rajj, she said she'd call back within a week. When we heard nothing I called again only to be folded they had never heard off us last week. So I again explained the problem. & again was told I would be contacted. A week later still hadn't heard anything! So I went into the branch and they told me they had never received any calls off me! So once again explained the problem! They continued to do nothing and kept saying they never heard off me! So we wrote to them in email so we had evidence. Our boiler at this point had exploded. We had no hot water at all and flooding in the spare bedroom. The lady who lived below us had it coming through her ceiling! They responded to our email saying they would contact the landlady about it. 2 weeks later a man came to look. He said he couldn't fix anything he was just giving a quote to the landlady. He said a new boiler needed to be fitted. Our carpet in the spare room was ruined from it! A week later and still hadn't heard a thing! Contacted redstones who said they are doing everything they can and would be in touch! 2 days later we contacted them again for updates and they told us the landlady was away on holiday! So they couldn't do anything! A few days later we received an eviction letter from redstones saying we had 3 months to leave! We then emailed to say we would not be paying rent as they have broken the tenancy agreement! We called up to ask the reason for this and they didn't have one! They are now expecting us to pay a �75 leaving fee when they are evicting us! & also are charging us to give us a reference through another agency we are in the process of becoming tenants! & to this day we still have no hot water, flooding beyond belief & are having to pay hidden charges! DO NOT USE RED STONES!!!!! The customer service is awful & they have never once been helpful to us in anyway! We are disgusted with how we have been treated!

What agent could do to change your mind?
Staff to stick to appointments and times! especially Lindsey!! Staff to call back when tenants have problems. Raj to get her facts right before emailing & demanding money. Neil to actually be a manager over his staff and sort serious problems out. Redstones seriously needs customer service lessons and to learn how to speak properly on the phone.

I have lost count of the amount of problems with Redstones. From the start Lindsey from Redstones made an appointment with myself for the key hand over and did not even turn up! Then when I emailed Lindsey regarding leaking tap ect she said that she would deal with it, two months later when I chased up about it she told me it was not her that dealt with it! No apologie for the waiting about. Then I kept getting an 'outstanding payment' email demanding money from Raj when I did not owe any money!! this went on for over three months even though I called and emailed Raj asking for this to stop!! Redstones is rubbish and anyone thinking of going with them should really think about it as I have had nothing but problems. Redstones are unprofessional and never call you back. If you need anything always speak to the manager direct as all the staff I have spoken to were very unhelpful!!!!!!!!!!

Redstones have been a terrible letting agent the property was let with me paying six months rent up front. Within two days I noticed the damp in all wardrobes and some external walls Redstones chose to do nothing. I noticed that the property did not have fire alarms, with a young family I knew they would not have got a safety certificate without fire alarms again nothing was done I was told I should fix fire alarms. There was no gas safety certificate in three weeks of us moving in I smelt gas called out a emergency gas engineer who informed that the property had the gas disconnected two months earlier and because the safety triangle was still in the gas box he felt owners had turned on the gas and just let it. On checking both the cooker and the lounger heater both had massive gas leaks. It was winter I spent one night in a hotel at my own cost again Redstones were slow to respond. It did not end there on leaving the property the Walsall branch have held on to my deposit over£600 for 10 months now I have not been able to get this back to date. I am taking this case to Watchdog and Don't Get Done Get Dom. I feel this agent has let me down at every point I would not recommend them to anyone. I am still waiting for my deposit to be returned.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Improve staff training to provide a better service
Answer telephone after 2 or 3 rings
Provide an estate agent service (to secure a sale)
Get a better mortgage broker who isn\'t intimidating.
Use correct information about property to avoid issues with sale.
Poor service - not returning calls - not helping with the purchase - I had to keep chasing - sale fell through on property because redstones failed to inform me the property has a dangerous building with no building planning approval or building regulations permissions.
Not very quick at answering calls - if at all.
Failed to help secure the property with the seller at a better price - hence us losing a lot of money.
Also financial mortgage broker supplied was very pushy And intimidating.

Terrible agent with bad service, poor organization and terrible personal skills.
Took over a month from paying the deposit to moving into the house as the paper work was not ready on their end.
When we finally arranged a moving in date it was delayed by the agent twice as he dint have the paper work ready.
Had the agent stand in the new house trying to force me to sign a standing order mandate with the wrong bank details and date on it. Was very hostile and aggressive and when his head office confirmed he was in the wrong did not offer so much as an apology.
Still have not received some of the keys for the property meaning we cant access the back garden or garage three weeks after moving in.
Submitted a complaint to the head office almost three weeks ago now and despite trying to chase it up have not heard back from them.
Told the agent we would be there at least a year but they gave us a six month contract and told us we had to pay extra to stay longer.
After signing the contract was provided with a big list of extra fees and charges that are applicable.
almost impossible to contact the agent by phone as he is never in the office.
Generally terrible organizational skills with staff being rude, abrupt and sometimes downright hostile. Will be complaining to the ombudsman soon.
