As with all the other reviews below, my experience is uncannily comparable to an episode of White Collar, except with Homer Simpson (playing Philip Andrews) starring as lead character. I definitely corroborate all the descriptions deeming them unprofessional, incompetent, smug, unreliable, etc.
At the end of the day, I was left without an apartment, a large empty space in my wallet where an excited £300 was anxious to earn its worth, and a shaken confidence in my ability to spot and deal with a conman.
Despite multiple attempts to reunite my lonely wallet with its £300, Philly Philip Andrews continues to cowardly hide behind the support of his sheepish, yet endearingly maternal, staff. Yes, I am aware they are male, but oh how gently they rock that cosy cradle from where Philly proudly holds up banners citing the fine print of his bogus clauses.
Very well played, Philly. After carefully reading and analysing the emails from our previous correspondence, I have finally deciphered your crafty strategy! I don't want to publicly unveil your secret to business success, but I will hint at that it's not so much in what you do say, but rather in what you don't say, ever, in any of the emails that you never replied to, unless you wanted money of course. I really admire how you have managed to employ this cunning strategy across your entire business model by never returning phone calls, never being available to take them in the first place, and having your staff sell, so well, the story that you do not own a mobile phone and are therefore unreachable except by email which, well, we've already been through that. Such finesse. Such ingenuity. Well played.
PS: I sincerely hope you grace my review with one of your eloquent, professional, and really classy replies. They have definitely served your reputation well on this forum. A rating of 20594 out of 20787 branches in the whole of the UK! Quintuple digits, whoa, well done, you must be so proud.

First of all you secure the rental property with admin charges of £240 and thats the biggest scam, we had to chase up our own references, set up our own bills which they told us they would and they couldnt tell us who our electric provider were. Staff always promised us to return phone calls etc... Read Full Review

Staff always promised us to return phone calls etc but never did, i would be on the phone to the guy and you would hear him tapping his pen unpatiently. Rude, anything to get you off the phone. You can forget about any help if the secretary is not in. It came to the day of the move and they told us we did not pay the rent and deposit which was paid 3 weeks prior. Unessacary worry as they found it 20 mins later. Total waste of time. Would not recomend estate agents if i could sum it up in 3 words. Lazy. Scammers. Unproffesional. I just wish we knew this before but we live and learn. Oh and they never sent us a tenancy agreement which we had nagged for. And any excuse to take some of your deposit. Infuriates me these people get away with this.

This was my second rental and I must say - what an absolutely shocking experience. Everything about them. From the cocky unhelpful attitude of Phillip himself to their management skills. First of all we viewed a property unfurnished and signed the deal for the property to be furnished. Upon moving in we soon discovered the furnishings were not fit for a kennel. Missing items that took months to be put in place (and even then they gave us utter S**T) They never sorted the bills out upon moving in so they expected us to pay for 2months prior. They never return phone calls or resolve issues. I have now had no bedroom light for 6 weeks and to accompany this is a nice leaking ceiling in my bedroom. The words I would like to use to describe this business wouldn't be suitable for this website but I am happy for anyone to contact me privately to get my full opinion.
But all in all I would try and avoid this company at all cost. Go and pay 100pcm more and get a nice helpful service. Instead of some unhelpful cocky rip off merchant.

Oh and all they kept saying when we questioned their woeful level of service was that the readers of the Swindon Advertiser voted them "Best Estate Agent In Swindon" I've dealt with several estate agents over the years in both Swindon and Oxford, Philip Andrews are by far the most incompetent, avoid these idiots at all costs.

I was looking for a 4 bed detached house in Swindon. I tried to arrange a couple of viewing through Philip Andrews. They never got back to me, I had to chase them. I managed to make them arrange a viewing of one of the 2 houses after three weeks of calling and enquiring.
On the day of the viewing they called to cancel the viewing. They said the house was sold. However, they actively kept marketing the house for another 3 months and only then it was sold through a different agent.
I viewed more than 30 houses and dealt with pretty much all estate agents in Swindon. Philip Andrews are by far the worst.
If you are a vendor trying to sell your property through Philip Andrews and you're wondering why you haven't got many viewings - well, the reason is that it is extremely difficult to arrange one with Philip Andrews.
I eventually bought a different house through a different agent.
