The sale of our property was handled very well by Rhyss Sawyer and his colleagues and all queries dealt with efficiently. The only problems encountered came when relating the sales aspects to the closing of the tenancy which was in place up to two months before completion of the sale. This was due to the sale being handled in Canterbury and the tenancy in Margate.

Miles and Barr Canterbury used misleading practices and sold my an apartment using incorrect information. This has caused financial and personal distress. When viewing the apartment I was directly led to and shown an underground parking space. However, after purchasing the property was told that my apartment did not have a parking space assigned. It's akin to being promised a private pool during a viewing, only to find out post-purchase that the pool belongs to your neighbour. This deception left me emotionally and financially damaged. Furthermore, Miles and Barr refuse to take steps in resolving this matter. They have frequently failed to respond to emails, attempted to ignore my legal representative, and refused to cooperate with property ombudsman who is now involved.
Beware of Miles and Barr's misleading practices and the distress they may cause. I strongly recommend to avoid purchasing, renting or selling via this company.

Didn't do jack to market our property, we got no single offer for many months, and Miles and Barr completely ignored our communications. We grew desperate and eventually we contracted another agent who immediately found us a buyer. And then... they came after us and demanded their full sales fee! 5,000 Pound! For DOING NOTHING and wasting our time. Our lawyers are investigating this case now.

Miles and Barr are really pushy when you get your valuation done with them. But afterwards it's a complete nightmare. Never ever any staff to do the showing for you. We viewed another house with them and the young lady had no idea about the property she was selling, and was quite abrasive, worse she was training someone, it was a shambles. The progresser is a joke as we were never kept informed and when our buyer dropped out she neglected to inform us, when we were eventually told it was too late, and we lost the place we wanted. I have never been so angry in all my life, and I will never recommend this estate agent.

Visited a few weeks ago from London to view property in Canterbury, made my interest in property clear. Received a call back the next day in which I restated interest and questions for seller, told someone would call me back. Throughout the following week received no call back so rang several times for updates only to be met with confusion and told each time that a colleague would call me back. No colleague ever called me back. I rang up myself and made an offer on the property. Assured that someone would call me back. Again, no call back. Couple days later I notice the property was no longer listed online and on September 21 called Miles & Barr to be told that the property had been sold! I reminded them of my offer and was told that there was no record of my offer on file. Expressed my disappointment to deputy manager Reiss who assured he would call me the following Monday to explain and assist in finding me a similar property. Well it's now Friday and unsurprisingly, no call back. Unprofessional, disappointing service all round.

What a shamble. Unprofessional staff and some very suspect selling procedures. Who ever owns Miles & Barr really needs to vet the employees as they are losing the company so many potential buyers and sellers. The agent we had does not follow up the bidding of a property to which could have sold for a lot more and instead closed the book on any further offers or dealings for alternative property sales. He has a very peculiar ethic on how to be an estate agent. No correspondents, lied on several matters, withheld the fact that the property was taken off the market before Whilst still accepting offers which were not put forward to the vendors.

Viewed a property on the Saturday 19th April 2014 and went straight to the office and paid the administration fee, after I decided I'd like to rent the property. When I called on Monday was told there was already another applicant and they were sending both sets of details to the landlord. I'd never have paid money for the admin process if I'd known this, as for fairness it should be first come first served, and I was second. I wasn't accepted for the property (which in fairness was only right) but I had cancelled two other viewings with M and B on the Saturday, as I assumed I was the only prospective tenant. Awful customer service, very few brain cells to rub together in the staff. Would never rent via M and B or let them manage a property for me.

This agent was very friendly at first and the property was put on the market very quickly and efficiently. We hardly got any viewings while on their books and we received no updates from them. We never had our calls returned and we got excuses like the agent had hayfever or was on leave.

This agent was very friendly at first and the property was put on the market very quickly and efficiently. We hardly got any viewings while on their books and we received no updates from them. We never had our calls returned and we got excuses like the agent had hayfever or was on leave. When telling the agent we were pulling the house off the market, they told us that a prospective buyer was interested in our house, but alas, we heard nothing from them for a further month. I would not use this agent again. Not helpful, they lose interest and seem keen to take your property on but are extremely lethargic thereafter.
