From start to what we intend to be a finish nothing short of very disappointing, in the wrong mood, utterly disgraceful! Customer service and customer experience are concepts yet to be embraced by John German, annoying that they are appointed to sell houses as means we had no choice but to contact them. Pre lockdown their urgency and follow up was non existent and we had to continually chase and repeat the requests each time.
Post lockdown, wow, new standard of 'shocking'. Can never get through, leave repeated messages over days to secure viewings but no feedback. When we finally did get to view a property and we showed interest a little more 'attentive' but not well executed.
A property on the market since Nov 19, price hasn't been adjusted. Made an offer the day after our first viewing. We were informed no interest since Feb 2020 no viewings. Made an offer, was rejected. No issue with that. Made an offer the next day - wasn't asked to be a final offer, wasn't positioned as a final offer. Immediately informed a new offer from another buyer had been received 'out of the blue'. Informed at 5pm vendor is considering the offers.
After chasing, at 10.30am following day informed the other offer is accepted, not higher offer but cash buyer. Wow?! Where did this person come from, i believe they were informed of our offer value - no option to revise offers, or even any discussion??!!
We have a mortgage arranged, sold our house, and have a move date in 11 weeks after our baby is born.
Hope I never have to engage with this company EVER AGAIN!
By the way, shocking reputation in the area, reputation for over valuing properties to get vendors on board then force them to accept poorly managed offers. No transparency, no customer orientation, mechanical without any human empathy or consideration.
To the 'friend' of the Estate Agent who received the tip off we do genuinely hope you enjoy living in the home.

Very unprofessional and incompetent
Did not pass on important information - no apologies given for this, I had to ring them constantly (when they answered the phone)

Lived in the property for 2 years plus. It was cold, damp and needed a lot of work to bring it up to the rental of £995 per month. On leaving the rep from Germans Emma criticised everything. She even said I had peed on the radiator. "xxx". She was rude and incompetent to say the least.... Read Full Review

Lived in the property for 2 years plus. It was cold, damp and needed a lot of work to bring it up to the rental of £995 per month. On leaving the rep from Germans Emma criticised everything. She even said I had peed on the radiator. "xxx". She was rude and incompetent to say the least. The landlord even suggested I had broken the front door. I don't think so the door swelled when it was wet and you couldn't get in or out. I replaced the handle 5 times. All in all a nightmare. Lost my deposit but didn't care just wanted to get out.

Arranged a viewing of a property in Uttoxeter through John German earlier this year. Travelled up from London on the day to be told by the homeowner on arrival that the house had been sold two days earlier. Spoke to John German and they said they had forgotten to call and tell me. The lady I spoke to gave a half-hearted apology but just blamed someone else. Very poor organisation, wasted my time and money. Also around the same time I logged an online enquiry for a property through their Ashbourne office and they never bothered to respond or contact me. Again very poor and would advise against using this agent
