I rented a property through darlows for a year. Initially they were very helpful as I payed an admin fee of £350 and they couldn't wait to get me into the property. As Soon as I got into the property things quickly changed. I had a burst main pipe from the main toilet upstairs so we couldn't pull the flush as the urine and poo was leaking into the garden. Neighbours were complaint of the smell I couldn't stay in the property for this time. I Reported this to darlows as I have 2 small children and it was a hot summer and it really smelt and it wasn't practical as no one could use the toilet. Took 16 phone calls arguments and nearly 4 weeks to get sorted. I've had on going problems with the boiler I was left weeks without heating and hot water again with a brand new baby and 7 year old and this was on more than one occasion. I kept getting told to ring head office which is impossible to get though to it's a Newport number. I kept ringing Albany road directly and kept getting told I would get call backs and I never did. They had admin fees a month rent upfront of £850 and a £950 bond off me. I moved out nearly a month ago and haven't heard nothing from them. Again it is going to be an argument to get my bond back Which I could really do without. No one communicates and you just get told a load of lies to get you off the phone. I have rented previously with peter Alan and cps and had no problems. The Albany road branch and head office are horrendous I do not recommend handing your money or custom to these!!

The Darlows Lettrak online letting system is challenging, to put it kindly. If it hadn't been for Darlows' letting associate Emma Wilson, who was knowledgable, patient, professional and very kind, it's likely we'd have pulled out of renting our new home despite the fact that it was exactly what we were looking for. Emma was never too busy to listen and provide guidance. Backup was provided by Tristram and Bethan and, between the three of them, we were guided along a very rocky road to a satisfactory conclusion. Darlows is very lucky indeed to have them on their team! I'm afraid I couldn't recommend Darlows but their staff are first class.

I let my flat by this aganecy and tried to sell it with them. They are teh worst agancey ever. Property management was very poor, so my tenant left out with not a good service just because they havent informed me about any issues. And now the ckeck out of teh property has been done and they left me with a flat without electricity and filty while the photos they have sent me in the check out showed everything is great. And the other issue on selling process was they havent chcked teh source of money of the buyer . So i had a big financial missing just because i trusted them. Never go to them if you want to have your peace

The process of finding and finally getting an apartment started well, but I guess this is before they had my money. After all payments were made and contract signed, we realized just how much information was held back and the communication practically stopped. There are problems with the doors of the apartment. They do not open or close properly which is a fire hazard as we sometimes get stuck in the kitchen or bathroom. Sofa is old and broken and uncomfortable to sit on. No fridge provided even though flat was advertised as 'furnished' We reported problems to Spicerhaart but have heard nothing since and that was over a month ago. The property owners do not really care about giving tenants a good service. You will feel ignored and your simple requests unaccommodated. They expect people to carry their bikes up two flights of stairs (and I have lower back arthritis) instead of providing parking solutions. The agravating thing is, you can complain but you will be ignored. The service from the agents, landlord has been appalling so far.

Worst agents I've ever dealt with in Cardiff. Happy to lie to tenants to get them in, communication absolutely awful throughout tenancy. In their defense the landlord was also awful at communicating with them, They do not care about tenants in their managed properties. No hurry to fix issues, No hurry to return deposit at end of tenancy. Changes to inventory not made at the start of tenancy even though requested. The only reason I gave one star is because of one helpful phone call with a member of the property management team when I moved out.

Not usually one to write this type of review, but the shambolic process that I am currently going through to receive my initial deposit payment back has been disgraceful.
Checked out of the property on 11th September, with Darlows instructing both myself and the other tenants that the landlord had 10 days to make any amendments. Submitted all final bills by the 26th September that were requested of us upon leaving the property. We are still waiting for our deposit to be paid back to us on the 12th October.
Having called Darlows numerous times to chase up the status of the deposit, and when we should be receiving them back (with no amendments being made, as advised by Darlows themselves). Every single time I call, there is a new reason why they are unable to release our deposits. Myself and my fellow house mates have been waiting over 5 weeks for OUR money to be returned. Have spoken to both the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Tenancy Deposit Scheme directly, and if this issue persists, I will be submitting a formal complaint to both organisations.

What agent could do to change your mind?
could have not been in business so i didnt have to buy a house from them.
Never even set foot in this estate agents and your life will be so much better for it. They are the most incompetent lot of useless idiots in Cardiff. They will happily give you mis information about properties, try to recommend extortionate solicitors (who work in partnership with them), promise to get quotes and estimates done that they never organise. Never apologise when they make mistakes., and basically make your life a living hell.
Oh and are late for property viewings. Unfortunately they have the lions share of the cardiff property market, lets try and change this because they shouldn't even be in business.

I am a landlord and all I can say about this company is stay away they are very unprofessional and have no idea what customer service is at all. They do not keep in contact if there are issues with late payments or if the tenants are not keeping the flat in good condition. All I can say is STAY AWAY!. They are in contact however 8 times a day when they want to let the property out again. Darlows incompetence meant I was left with a bill of over £2000 worth of damage to my property and the tenants did not pay the last months rent. Darlows also did not enforce the agreement they had set up with the tenants which was 6 months up front and then the last 4 months paid up front. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
