Absolutely disgusting service. If you are looking for a place don't go through this company. I enquired about an advertised property they said they had a lot of interest. I got completely turned of by the condescending tone, attitude, and response. I told them not to bother to book me in. These people called me back frantically a week later asking me to come view the property as the previous viewings yielded nothing. I was relocating from 4 hrs away in London and explained the distance and expense I would have to travel to do the viewing and would not bother to attend if I was not sure to let it. They assured me it would have a positive end result as they already had my personal circumstance details. The property was actually less rent pcm than the property I was moving from. So I eventually agreed travelled 4hrs to view. I mean lets forget that we now have technology that will allow remote viewings. I dont know how they ever survived covid. i viewed and was satisfied with the place and asked for next steps to let. Next day I get a message asking what was my current rent. I asked why this info was necessary. I was told the landlord was worried that I would not have enough disposable income. I was like, what? !!!! My income was above the 30x threshold, I was currently paying £3000 more per annum at my present property where I had lived for 8 years with no issues. Sounded a bit racist to me. I heard nothing back. I called and enquired only to be told by a rude receptionist that they had booked other viewings. I complained. Ended up speaking to the manager. When I brought discrimination laws to their attention the Manager promptly responded that the agent was Indian and couldn't be racist since obviously I was not caucasian and not Indian either. SERIOUSLY ARCHER BASSET? SO here is what I have discovered in my renting journey in Rugby, the new builds are being rented out to certain people that all look alike (neither black nor brown). If you don't belong to this category preferred group you are relegated to the properties they won't take i.e. the old ones, the overpriced ones, and those nit fit for human habitation. So all my years studying for my 2 university degrees, and other professional qualifications, my 999 credit score, and full time employment as a project manager are not important. What's important here is the colour of my skin and my Caribbean accent. DISGUSTING! Any decent landlords out there willing to offer a 3 bed in Rugby, preferably a new build.... let me know.

This is a vey calloused and cutthroat letting agent. They provided me with a notice to move out of my then home on Christmas eve after letting a property from them for 10 years. Wouldn’t rate these agents one star if that was an option. May issues with property reported promptly to them and either not actioned at all or after a very long period of time. One inspection was even forgotten about after me organising time off work to meet their demands, flustered woman on the phone rushed over after 20 minutes. Property on vacating was cleaned to perfection yet still money deducted from deposit. All round bad experience with them.

Do not use. They I gnore work that needs to be carried constantly, even a gas leak, and take your deposit when you leave. £660 for lightbulbs. Dodgy electric we're never looked at though. Now seeking legal advice. They're Cowboys. Hated them as my landlord. I left the property in better... Read Full Review

This estate agent is horrendous.
We purchased a house through the Rugby branch and not only were communications extremely patchy but the staff are very rude and disinterested.
To give you an example I made arrangements to get the estate agent to meet me at the property so that floor measurements could be taken. After declining to attend on at least three separate dates, they finally arranged a day convenient for them and so I took half a day off work and arranged for a contractor to attend with me so that a quote could be made up for flooring. I confirmed the appointment with the estate agent a few days before and then when it came to the day, an hour before said apppintment I received a phone call to tell me that the estate agent had taken a day of leave and so there was no one available to attend with me and they were not prepared to release the keys, even though this was okayed wiht the vendor and contracts had already been exchanged.
No apology was made and after several complaints and a threat to charge them for the loss of my earnings and the call out fee for the contractor, the company director eventually agreed to meet over an hour after the scheduled appointment.
When he did eventually decide to attend, he was rude and very unprofessional; bearing in mind it was totally the incompetence of his staff that lead to him having to come out to the property, you would have thought it was us at fault. Not at all what you would expect from a company figurehead.
This is just one situation highlighted, but we had problem after problem and once the sale finally went through I excitedly went to the branch to pick up the keys (I am a first time buyer) - No smiles from staff, no congratulations. Nothing. No welcome to your new home card or anything like that. I was just handed a bunch of keys (some missing) with no explanation given on which keys were for what. No other information as to utility companies etc. The lady in the branch barely spoke to me. I was left feeling very deflated.
To sum up I would NEVER recommend Archer Bassett to anybody. Awful company and staff are rude, unfriendly, disinterested and unwilling to help. Unless you really really really love the house, I would advise not to even view a property on with Archer Bassett. Save yourself a shed load of hassle. Vendors please think twice about using this cowboy company.
Horrible experience and really took the shine off of what should have been a really exciting time.

I am reluctant to give even one star. The most awful agency I have ever used (and I have done two degrees so rented as a student through several agencies). Made every effort to screw us with deposit to whack on their £60 admin charge. Inspections 3 times a year - such a privacy invasion.... Read Full Review

Made every effort to screw us with deposit to whack on their £60 admin charge. Inspections 3 times a year - such a privacy invasion. And they don't communicate with each other so you get multiple phone calls about the same thing.
Awful awful agency. I know when you fall in love with a property you take a risk with an agent but I would never ever rent with this agency again.
Landlord increased our rent only giving us 2 weeks notice and they didn't flag this up as being inappropriate.
Landlord didn't fix door for months but they did nothing.

They have proven to be a terrible horrendous agency I would plead with all landlords in the area to avoid them.
They commonly will add fees and charges, lie about inspections, the tenants they found did a runner and they voided my rent guarantee quoting a vague T&C, and finally they still had the nerve to charge me from the deposit money the final months fee including the rent guarantee fees!!!!
My tenants removed all the ground floor fire doors and this was not picked up in the tenancy inspection.
Like i said they are expensive rip off agency that I really wish go bankrupt!

We have had constant problems since renting a property with them which they consistently attempted to blame on us the customer!
They have been constantly rude to my wife with an aggressive attitude and patronising tone. They could not even distinguish the difference between two mobile numbers and constantly called me at work despite telling them repeated that I did not want t be contacted.
They took photos of a complaint with the property and then could not remember our problem.
They constantly lie and cheat to try and defend what little reputation they have. They will look down their noses at you as a non-home owner.
Do not go with this letting agent.
Worst company in the Uk by far.

Unfortunately terrible is the worst option. My time with them has been beyond terrible, I have been ringing them every week for problems to be fixed , and they never do!!! I here them huff down the phone when they know its me and worst of all they con you into huge bills to actually get the house and now I've had to sign a contract saying ill pay them more just to leave... I am going contact my landlord directly next time instead of them as I really see no point in talking to them, waste of space. The only one there who sympathises with you and helps is someone called Stephen I think. He's new and thankfully not as uncles as the rest!
