I am a prospective tenant and I had booked a viewing on a Tue at 18.00pm to see a property in Bicester.I called the same morning to confirm the appt which was fine and later the same day at 16.50 pm I received a call from the agency asking me again to confirm the appt which I did again! I left earlier from my work in order to be at 18.00pm in Bicester(not a car owner,I use the bus).I took a taxi to get asap to the bus stop and after 20 min (at 17.20 pm) a man called me again from the agancy saying that the property has been let because someone made the deposit on the same day.I explained to him that this is unacceptable and that I was reassured by his colleagues on Fri when I called to book the viewing that the property is available and that if I like it I could apply for it and all applications would be reviewed fairly.He said that was wrong and that whoever first calls is first served.I think that the most honest thing would be to say from the start that we have applicants ,we have offers but if you still want to view it that's your choice.It's not only about landrords and fees you know.. .You should treat prospective tenants with respect and honesty.That's what I will remember in the end even if I got or lost the property.

10 Jul 2014I am sorry about this but all properties have to be let on a first come first served basis. We contacted you to ensure that you were attending the appointment but the viewer just prior to you placed a holding deposit on the property. I explained that if there application was not successful then you would be contacted but sadly there was no more that we could do at the time.

I have a viewing for the house and he cancelled after couple of days and the reason is because the house is to small.. before we see the house, so I don't know why he call me back to make an appointment for viewing!
