I've been renting a property with Chancellors for over 2 years. There was a lot of problems I had with this agency, but just to list a couple: From the beginning I had problems and all the branch people and headquarters were interested in was money and wanted to hear no problems. It is a property managed by South East Property Management. Received a parking ticket in a parking bay belonging to the property, when I asked, Chancellors told me to pay it. I took the parking company to small claims court and their lawyer realized the parking company's stupidity, I received full amount I was claiming (went on holidays to Spain). The branch people are dishonest and unprofessional. They will let themselves in without your permission or knowledge. Appalling! Soon after I moved in the property was on the market. Every other month they were asking for a viewing (never written, always by phone), which I obliged and let them in, always was cooperative. In return got a two month notice to leave with no communication before the end of the tenancy agreement. When looking for a new place, prospective landlord asked for reference whether my current flat is free of damage and they declined to give reference, knowing well how I kept it, since they were in every other month or more frequently. Do not trust anything Chancellors' employees tell you, they embellish and give misinformed advice. They will take advantage of you every chance they get. Never again Chancellors!

Don't even go for a viewing at any of their properties. Estate agents are bad but this agency are the worst. I wanted to view 1 property and made it absolutely clear it was on behalf of someone else who was not yet ready to sell their house. 1) they cancelled the viewing late in the morning... I saw the bad reviews online before going ahead with my tenancy, I thought it might be ok. It wasn't. I urge anyone who is thinking of taking the chance on Chancellors to not put yourself through so much grief. I had problems singing the agreement (signed day before moving in) had multiple repair... The service I have received from Chancellors has been horrendous! Their management department are a joke and seem unable to do anything unless repeatedly chased, this includes collecting the rent!
