I have been renting for over 10 years with different estate agents and also private landlords. From my experience as a tenant I must say that the worst was renting a property managed by Keats in Haslemere. The only time they have been professional was on a viewing. Since then they have been totally uninterested and all they wanted to tick their boxes on job done. Rude and very arrogant way they spoke to me every time i had any question. I was told once not to call their office any more. Lack of response, care and interest I would like to advise anybody renting a property from Keats to check the inventory carefully (which they do with their external person on the day of you moving in which is a bit of a rush) and make additional photographs of everything not in a tip top condition as you will be likely to get charged for this in the end of the tenancy. Their inventory didn't note a mould, cobwebs, sticky kitchen units but the inventory said clean. Switched electric and gas meter readings etc.

21 Jul 2014Complaints like this are always disappointing and sadly we are unable to offer any resolution when the complainant hides behind a blog and won't even reveal their identity. Keats always use external inventory clerks in order to avoid bias and tenants have every opportunity to contest the inventory at the check in appointment which is taken at their pace and follows up with a check in report. Tenants are invited to attend the check out appointment giving every opportunity to comment on complications however very few take advantage of this opportunity. Keats Letting place all tenancy deposits into the SPA custodial scheme which offers a fair dispute resolution service should the tenant wish to contest any compensation sought by the landlord. Keats Letting are open and transparent in their tenancy administration and always willing to answer genuine complaints.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Without your tennants you have no business regardless of how many wonderful properties you have on your books. You need to give some serious customer service training to your lettings arm in Haslemere. Your tennants are not second class citizens and neither are your contractors. Treat them with respect and honesty and your company will flourish. You have a reputation that is not positive in the local area and take this as the trigger for improvement that reading the reviews is long over due in Haslemere.

What agent could do to change your mind?
No I do not wish to discuss this with the agent via this method. I have written to the MD of the Haslemere office and would prefer to deal with him directly. There are too many things they could have done better throughout our tenancy to change my mind that it really isn't worth writing them down here.
