I just wanted to reiterate the other review of this branch as we have had the exact same problems and are having a dreadful time presently arguing about our requirement to have the chimney swept.
The maintenance coordinator is incredibly condescending and rude and frankly, unhelpful and unorganised in her role.
The director of the lettings arm doesn't even appear to have a grasp on current housing legislation when I've pointed it out to her.
They rarely respond to you by email within seven days and have been quite underhand in trying to charge renewal fees on a contract that would automatically roll into a contractual tenancy anyway - luckily a bit of research on this saved us the £50 they were trying charge!

What agent could do to change your mind?
Without your tennants you have no business regardless of how many wonderful properties you have on your books. You need to give some serious customer service training to your lettings arm in Haslemere. Your tennants are not second class citizens and neither are your contractors. Treat them with respect and honesty and your company will flourish. You have a reputation that is not positive in the local area and take this as the trigger for improvement that reading the reviews is long over due in Haslemere.

Any complaint leaves you vulnerable to retribution and this was a real fear for me as a tennant. Check, check and double check your contract, read all the small print as it will be used at some stage if anything goes wrong. Your contract will be enforced but any requirements by your landlord will not if be if they do not wish to maintain or repair.

I have dealt with some wonderful letting agents and sadly expected the same high standard. This is not the case here to the extent that even their own have described one as a rotweiller to deal with. They are motivated by profit not service and I would advise anyone to avoid this branch at all cost. It is only due to a lack to documented proof that I have not taken my complaints to ORLA.

I would like to advise anybody renting a property from Keats to check the inventory carefully (which they do with their external person on the day of you moving in which is a bit of a rush) and make additional photographs of everything not in a tip top condition as you will be likely to get charged for this in the end of the tenancy. Their inventory didn't note a mould, cobwebs, sticky kitchen units but the inventory said clean. Switched electric and gas meter readings etc.

What agent could do to change your mind?
No I do not wish to discuss this with the agent via this method. I have written to the MD of the Haslemere office and would prefer to deal with him directly. There are too many things they could have done better throughout our tenancy to change my mind that it really isn't worth writing them down here.

I have never been spoken to in such a rude, condescending, patronising manner in all my life. The staff in the lettings office in Haslemere are rude, unhelpful and totally incapable of doing their job.
We rented off them for 6 months and had countless dealings with their terrible customer service. Simple requests are questioned, they tell you it's not their job to deal with things they should be dealing with, they pass the buck to their colleagues, and sometimes they can't even recall having a telephone conversation with you 10 minutes ago!
The icing on the cake was when we came to the end of the tenancy and I asked a member of staff outright if I should close our gas and electricity account and she said "no, that's our job, that's why we manage your letting". 6 weeks later I pick up the post from the house to find outstanding bills and bailiffs letters for gas and electricity. When I asked her why she had failed to close the account she said "It's not our job to close the account, only to inform them that you've vacated the property". She also said that they just email the gas and elec suppliers, and that they often get this problem with unclosed accounts. I suggested they call these companies to ensure that accounts are closed and she said "that's not the procedure we have in place". This is just one example of their utter incompetence.
The staff in the lettings office will cause you nothing but problems, frustration and hassle if you rent off them or rent via them. Our landlord was so fed up with them that we kept the majority of communication between her and us and resolved things amicably - we've even kept in touch since moving on.
There is little we can do about the appalling experience we've had with Keats in Haslemere, I only hope that this review will make you think twice about using them, and save you the hassle and stress we had.

I urge you not to use these letting agents. Terrible service from start to finish.
