In 18 years of renting I have never experienced such unprofessional-ism and horrendous customer service and response to our queries. Many inconsistencies - not returning phone calls, sending our direct debit instructions to the wrong bank, being given different information from different staff - one staff member argued with us about the details in our contract - then acknowledged we were right after checking, but we NEVER received any apologies. It took the agent 11 months to action repairs that were urgently needed - subsequently causing damage to our furniture - after making an official complaint, we received a very quick response that I thought unacceptable - it was defensive with no offer of compensation, refund of expenses or even an apology - it is always everyone else's fault!? The associate director was rude and argumentative, again providing very contradictory information, also making false accusations - some personally offending. Our experience with this agent caused much distress, unnecessary disruption and huge amounts of frustration. I would not rent from Tingleys even if our ideal property was available for £50pcm!
If the agent was sympathetic to our situation, apologised for the long delays, kept us updated and accepted some fraction of responsibility I would not feel so strongly. However, there is now nothing the agent could say that would change our opinion of them.

Tingleys managed our property for several years and the quality of this management was poor. Mistakes were constantly made: eg we agreed to a tenancy renewal for 12 months, they renewed it for 18 months. Once we had to return a tenancy agreement back to them three times there were so many... Poor customer service, constant mistakes
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
