I recently purchased a property that had Satchells of Stotfold acting as the estate agent. Their contribution to the whole process was outrageously minimal, with a lack of professionalism in the few things they did do. My total dealings with them involved one viewing, approximately 3 phone calls and then finally being given the keys. Each of the phone calls only happened after having chased at least twice on each occasion as nobody ever phoned me back! When I did finally get hold of someone I was never once made to feel like my question or issue mattered, and instead most of the time was treated like an inconvenience. There were a few ups and downs along the way due to various reasons and not once did Satchells get involved, assist or aid the situations in any way. At one point the entire chain nearly fell apart, but to this day I'm not even sure Satchells were aware of it as they were the only estate agent in the chain that nobody heard from. This was a very stressful situation and Satchells involvement was silence!! Just abysmal. The house we purchased was 600k, so a tidy commission for Satchells. I used Hatched as my estate agent who were absolutely superb, which is ironic considering they were approximately 15 times cheaper and were to make nothing on completion, unlike Satchells! My advice to anyone looking to sell your house in the area is to avoid Satchells completely, save some money and go with an agent that support you and help the chain progress smoothly.
